Six Sigma...

To me it's nothing more that plain old common sense.

However, you are young, and a lot of companies look for things like that on a resume.

Go for it.

TQM in another coat....

How much to invest??

How much will it earn you??

ROI = ???

rebadged TQL if you asked me. I have my lean six sigma white belt. I stopped with that.

If you can get the training through your work DO IT. It doesnt hurt to know six sigma but, there are alot of others TQM, QS9000, JIT, KanBan, Lean Mfg to name a few. Go for a blackbelt it will make you more valuable to your company.

Not a coffee drinker, and the bastards won't let me drink beer at work.:mad: I do have to admit, it might make some of these meetings more interesting:bebored: if we were allowed to drink beer. :D

If your company is going to pick up the tab, go for it. It won't hurt the resume. IMO, most of these "management tools" are nothing but a "program of the moment" that somebody drerams up or thinks it is what everybody needs. The masses get all exercised and pshyc'd up and 2 weeks later something else comes around. It all comes down to leadership and people doing what they get paid for. If either fails, the whole effort fails.

Its good on a resume but in business you should be already thinking these things - efficiency, cost cutting, etc
I wouldnt spend the cash on your own if your company picks it up you have nothing to lose.

We have been thru so many of these: TQM, Fish philosphy and now we are doing ITSM. They are all just buzz words and a way for companies to spend money on uneccesary training.

WOW:hmmmm:
I got mine (GreenBelt) and it IS common sense on paper. I created a lot of static during class, teacher yelled at me.:alberteinstein:
