Boy it sucks here. It was supposed to get "a little chilly" this week with flurries. Turned out to be a major winter storm. Now, it's supposed to get into the 50's early next week...WITH RAIN! You know what that means? 1 inch of water in my basement, the floor of which I'll be in the process of painting tomorrow and Friday. I've had this project planned for quite a while, and I gotta get it done. This sucks.

Florida's bad dude, but don't underestimate the misery of Western Pennsylvania. This is the wettest, dreariest place I've ever been. It's cold and rainy here all the time. Even in the summer. We average less than 100 dry, clear days per year. That's including those clear & dry 10 degree winter days. So really, there's only about 60 or so days every year where it's actually pleasant to be outside.

Right now it's 21 degrees outside with 40 mph wind gusts. That's typical for about half the year here. If I were to stand outside right now in just jeans and a t-shirt for a couple of hours, I'd die.

Who cares though. The wife's finally had enough and she wants to move come spring. She's already getting her resume together and hopefully she'll be interviewing by mid February / early March. We're looking into the Rock Hill, SC area to live, and she's gonna apply for positions in Charlotte.

Bullshit. Pittsburgh gets more rain than Seattle (look it up). Also, more overcast days here. Your winters are a walk in the park compared to ours, so I don't wanna hear you bitch ;) .

And you fkers have the Pacific ocean right there! We've got lake Erie. Woo-hoo.

That movie was filmed in what's left of Livermore, PA. It's about 15 minutes from my house. The town in now completely underwater. The Army Corps of Engineers re-located the residents and turned the entire town into floodlands. All that's visible now is the old railroad trestle, and sometimes you can see the church steeple sticking out of the swampy mud from the bridge that crosses over where the town is buried.

On the outskirts of the town, the farmhouse and the cemetery where they filmed the movie sit atop a hill. We used to go to the cemetery at night when we were kids and smoke weed.

Wow, thats unreal. I was in that mall during Christmas 85. It was freaky as it looked so familiar......... we loved that movie in high school. We would go to the midnight movies and watch it quite often..............you know, sneek beers in, get loaded, and watch zombies try to eat people!! Good shit!!:

Now thats its underwater maybe they should do another Dawn of the Dead 25 years later...............I can see it, dead dudes coming out of the water hunting down the kids of the kids from the 80's!!! LOL

You've got it all wrong. "Night of the living dead" was filmed in Livermore, not "Dawn of the dead". However, the original "Dawn of the dead" was filmed in Monroeville mall, about 1/2 hour from where I live. That mall is not underwater! It's still there.

"Night of the living dead" was filmed after they flooded out Livermore. That happened back in the 30's, but parts of the town on higher ground survived and are still there, including the cemetery.
 
I know..It's confusing. So much "living dead" here in Western Pennsylvania. That's mostly because George Romero is from this area. I was pissed off when he chose Milwaukee for the re-make of Dawn of the Dead, until I discovered that Pittsburgh was his first choice, but everyone's so goddamn sensitive around here cause the place sucks so bad. I guess the powers-that-be wouldn't let him film here because Pittsburgh is considered a "dying" region, and they didn't want to add icing onto the cake by making a movie about walking corpses here. People tend to get sensitive and overly-protective when they're living in an area that's going down the toilet.
