Okay so most of you know I was supposed to spend a month in Norway for work. Well, since I got done a week early I get to go back home right? NOPE.. I am going to Baku, Azerbaijan today for God knows how long. It's a country between Russia and Iran just off the Caspian Sea. This is my first time heading into that part of the world. I'm hoping the issue I am supposed to be addressing there isn't too major... Meaning I hope I could solve the problem within a week and be home on Saturday getting ready to tune the truck like I planned.

What worries me is this is supposed to be off the books, kind of a favor for one of my company's customers; a wealthy Muslim group indigenous to Baku that has clout with their local government, so a visa wouldn’t be required. Let's just hope I don't end up bound and gagged on youtube. Anyway, I figured I let you all know in case you don't see me here for a while (or at all). If I have Internet access I'll try to keep in touch. WISH ME LUCK!:dontknow:

Good Luck! If you dont come back can I have your truck?:D:D:D

Don't worry bro you a Mexican.!!!!!!!!

Just keep sayin "NO HABLA ENGLEISSSS:)

Still stuck in Singapore until the 19th, then the wonderfull 24 hr flight back:)

I have traveled to Baku, it's not all that bad, compared to some other lovely 5th world garden spots I have visited. In case your contact falls through with the visa, you can get one at the airport prior to reaching immigration. You'll have to fill out a visa application form (of course), provide 2 passport sized photos and as customary in most foreign countries pay a fee. How much :dontknow: .

If you're staying at the Hyatt Regency, there is a really good Italian/Pizza shop just down the street from the hotel. The Raddison is very nice as well. Take lots of cash with you, it can be expensive and don't depend on a credit card to pay expenses, except for/at major hotels.

Also, here is a link to the State Department's travel website page. http://www.state.gov/ You can find all kinds of useful information here and under the countries tab. Safe travels.

You guys crack me up. I don't know who to respond to. All is well here. I DID stay in what seemed like a hole for the first night, but that's because someone screwed up and now I'm at the Raddison like I was supposed to be. I'm almost done with my work here so I'll run around Baku and take pictures before I leave. Thanks for the info FastRam, it's good to see someone in VTCoA has been here.
