There were lots of rumors the Merecedes SLS actually started design-life as the next Viper before all the shit hit the fan. Mercedes kept the ball rolling and modified that chassis for their use in the new AMG Gullwing.

Now, it seems Fiat/Alfa/Ferrari are working on the next Viper... and people are rumbling about some kind of off-shoot of the Alfa 8C chassis with a lot of Ferrari made goodies, along with a REAL manual gearbox and a Viper-ish body.

Sounds like a bastardized Italian turd to me.... but, I hope I'm wrong. :( :eek:
 
wait so i am confused is dodge still going to make the Viper? I thought this year was the last year for Viper

Or will it not be called a Dodge Viper or is a different brand going to have the rights?

They pulled that trick in 2002 as well, with the "Final Edition" cars before they came out with the 3rd Gen model. ;)

Yes, there will be a new Viper for 2012. What it will be made of.... who knows. :dontknow: :D I'm also willing to bet it will just be called Viper. No "Dodge" or "SRT-10" stuff. There aren't anymore dealers that are just DODGE these days anyway, so I don't think it would matter if it had a Dodge brand attached to it.
 
hasn't Viper been its own entity for years now? Hell the corvette has been that way as long as I can remember and Dodge is doing the same with the Ram now even though it dose not say Dodge we know who is behind it so does it really matter? I think the new emblem looks great
