I'm sure somewhere along the line this has been covered but if not, then here ya go. I had one of my random thinking tangents the other day and thought about something.

Ten is a nice round number. So lets do some math.
10 MPG
V10 = 10 Pistons = 1 MPG Per Piston
Say 100,000 Miles goes by.
I get mine serviced by the dealership every 3000 miles so roughly 33 services @ about 100$ a pop in my case (I think anyway) That's $3,300 in standard service
100,000 miles... 10,000 gallons of gas.
What's the national gas average? $2.30 now? And it was over $3.00 so over the last year or two the average probly comes to around $2.75 (I'd say that's generous) but lets say that's true. So $2.75 x 10,000 = $27,500.00
I haven't worn out any tires so, how long do our tires last on average? You could factor that in.
There's plenty of other cool things you can throw in there like drive thru car washes, various expenses, broken parts. But with whats mentioned above, by the time you reach 100,000 miles, you've got a good $31K at least put in.

Yeah... I'm retarded. :dontknow:

OMG!!! That is horrible - Looks like I will have to cut out the drive through car washes :D

For me the big expense is MODS.

Everything else is cheap in comparison..................................

Does anyone here use drive thru car washes? I tested one out once; the tires were too wide for the track. :)

Also, I only spend about $50 per oil change (including filter). That cuts my $3,300 in half.

If I only spend $30K on this truck over the course of 100,000 miles (about 10 years), I'm kickin' ass.

I would never use a drive through car wash. The ones I've seen use recycled water.

What? You get 10 MPG. Son of a, i'm lucky to get 9mpg and usually hover around the 8mpg range.

Well usually I get 11 and try to squeeze 12 out and on some lenghty trips, 13 maybe 14 but thats pushin it. I dont drive mine very hard usually... when its drivable anyway.

I scraped my first set of aftermarket wheels on a stupid bank drive through, it was so retarded narrow and you had to turn abruptly. Scraped my originals at a taco bell drive thru... I walk my fat ass into the stores that have questionable drive throughs anymore lol

I would rather masterbate with 80 grit sandpaper, than use a drive through carwash.

And here's my advice for the day. Don't use anything rougher that 200 grit to polish the knob. It's not worth it.;) :p :D

And I may as well add that I get free lifetime oil changes. Everyone can now go back to hating me.:( :D :p

I have bought 13 vehicles since 1990 from the same dealer. Hell, most from the same salesman.

They treat me nice to say the least.

you guys need to ligten up on the throttle a lllliittttllleeee bit. i went to albany and back not too long ago. it's 450ish miles round trip and i made it there and back on 19 gallons with 2 people in the truck. that averages out to about 22mpg's.

I do believe that RC's get better gas mileage than QC's for some reason. Atleast that is what I remember reading here on the forum some time ago...:dontknow:

Ofcourse a lead foot never helps!!!:D

I've been running on the same tank of gas for the last 3 weeks!!   ;)
