Someone did a Cylinder Deactivation

i deactivated 5 cylinders on a long road trip once and got about 18 mpg.
According to my trip computer thingy. I was getting 18+ on the road trip up to the Mopar Nats in 104 degree heat without cylinder deactivation. It's an interesting idea though.

Doesn't make sense that his FUEL-SAVER is not available for anyone else.(if it actually works):dontknow:

That guy is a nut job.. Its been proven that tailgate down takes more gas and that is one of his saving tips ,, well done . well done..

And his aclaimed 21mpg .. big deal.. put her in 6th go 65 70mph and you will get 21mpg woohoo... I did a 2400 Mile drive from Toronto to West Palm , and I drove at that rate and acheived 21Mpg all day long...

So far he is just full of good ideas LOL... and is matching a stock RC .. woohooo..

which gears ? I get 18+ at 60-65 with 4.56's

Mine is a gas hog! I only got about 12+ with the cruise set on 79mph.

.

I think RC's do better on mpg because of the 6 speed. Those with 4.10's in a RC should do BEST on mpg.A LOT depends on driving style and speed.

Normally I don't care about mileage but recent 1400 mile trip I did some experimenting. At 65mph average and 2 stops I averaged 20.8 mpg between fill ups. At 80mph average and 1 stop I averaged 15.8 mpg between fill up. Final was just over 72mph I averaged 18.7. This last one was with no stops between fill up. Speed kills....mpg that is!

Stock '05, so 4.56 ers. Sorta wish I had a longer trip to run thru seceral more tanks, because I'm pretty sure it woulda' kept climbing atleast another 1 or 2.
