Well, it was bound to happen. I have thought for a while that something was gonna break. I have been skeptical of my truck since I pulled a 373 hp run on the dyno.

On Sunday, I got on it with some spirit from a 40 roll, and I heard a noise. When I got home I was still not sure if it was my imagination. After much deliberation, I am sure it is a knock. EED speculates that it could be a spun bearing. PBJ is more inclined to believe it is a bent push rod. I know the push rod is a minor repair, but I do not want to worry anymore. So, I will know soon enough what the real cause was.

I decided to move forward on my power plan. The truck is getting trailored to my local speed shop. The engine will get pulled and shipped to PBJ. Joe will do the build and give it back to my speed shop for the install. After install, I will fly Joe to the West Coast to do his magic.

In the mean time, my local fab shop will work on the 4-link. I am lucky in the fact the speed shop and the fab shop share a building. So I will use my down time wisely. I actually expect the fab work to take longer just because of waiting on parts like custom rims and axle assembly.

Oh well, it was rainy and wet around here anyway. I will miss my ride though.

WOW!!! I don't know weather to be sad or happy for you. Sucks that something broke, but your about to make a sweet truck even sweeter!

Good luck on the build!

sorry bud....but it sounds like you are looking on the sunny side...:D ...it is gonna be a beast when you are done....

You will enjoy knowing that she is all built up when you get it all done...

My goal is to get kicked off the track this year for going to fast. Of course my mod budget will be blown, so I will be unable to afford the roll bar if I get that fast.

You are also right in the peace of mind. Every trip to the track was gamble last year. In the end though, she made it home every time. Even this Sunday.

Dale,

Keep moving forward.

Just remember it takes 3 times as long as you originally thought it would, and costs twice as much.......................................................;)

is that a normal persons time line?

cuz yours is ten times that much!:D

how much this is going to cost ?
$1400.00 for engine removal and reinstall. Plane tickets and about $350.00 for tuning. Engine, will be as much as I want to invest.

Boy, I hope not. But I am expecting the engine to be pulled next week. It will go out late next week. I have no clue what kind of time it takes to ship, but Joe expects about 6 weeks for the build. So by my time line it should be back by the end of January. So I am hoping to have it for my Valentines day date with my daughter :) But I will be prepared for March. I just hope it is not an April Fools.

Dale , when you pull the engine are you doing anything to your trans? I didn't notice it in your sig if you had or not. The front , back, middle?:D

Dale, sorry to hear about the problem...but sounds like a good plan.

I also am working with Joe on a little freshen up work in January...plan to leave my ride with him in Jan and Feb, for some forged internal work.

Seems like DC, PBJ and Underground are about it these days...with Boomer and Roe really out of the heavy engine work...Maybe Taliban Dan too...

But our resources are dwindling folks...better get in line now...

Sad to say, but he is waiting on parts from Boomer. From talking to Joe, I may be waiting on parts from Oliver.

Trans is already done. My tranny started to give me fits before the ROE. I went with upgraded everything then. At first it was eating govenor pressure switches, but they kept replacing them. Then it ate the entire tranny. When they did rebuild #2, they found a torque out of spec. It was all done under transmission shop warranty even though I was at the track.
