Something Broke

I took it to Robert and as we listened to it he said sounds like the back of the engine or tranny. They dropped the tranny and noticed that the flywheel had been hitting. Not sure how it happened and he said they hadnt seen that before. The flywheel was replaced and the knock is gone.

No spin intended. How do you explain engine failure of stock engines with no mods? Stuff happens, and I do not think it fair to blame the latest mod just because. If all the FI guys were having this problem, then I would agree. But they are not, it seems to be a random problem not directly associated with FI.

Besides, most everyone thought I had a problem only getting 490 on the SC. I only had 373 without the SC. Maybe those were signs of the health of my engine at the start.

Either way, I am getting it fixed with the goal on not worrying about it again. And I will be adding power while I am at it.

about 99% of all failures , admitted to or not, have been from improper installment, but mainly bad tuning

It depends on how much of those miles were boosted too!

17,000 miles boosted and sprayed(50 shot only though) on mine. Stock bottom end...

Agreed...Some of us are very fortunate to still be together.... :D

It was a good find to identify a rubbing flywheel! That is so uncommon, that not many would find it. Just one more question...did they lift the truck and then start the engine to find this problem, before they pulled the trans?

Just interested in the process to find this one in a million issue...
