Some of you I have met, some I have not. I am bringing an important issue to you. Some of you may know that I am a Christian, what I am about to discuss falls along those lines but it also is a matter of humanity and dignity of the way people are treated. My wife and I mentor some college students every semester, helping them out with various things in life. One girl in our group, whom my wife and I are close to, has decide to take a major step in her life. She will be going to Thailand for 5 months to help out in a disgusting and horrible trade, sex-trafficking. If you are not aware of the major problem that is going on in Thailand, just look on the interent. We are talking about children (girls & boys) that are forced into prostition as early as the age of 5. They are forced to have sex with as many as 5-10 johns a night. NOw I have 2 girls, I just can't imagine them having to go through this in there life. It is unimaginable to think that an 8 year old being raped 5 times a day would be OK in any one's mind. Guys, this student will be directly involved in rescueing these children from this environment. By July she needs to raise $5,500.00, my wife and I would love to satisfy this need by our selves but at the time we are unable to. The money does not go to a church organization and is NOT tax-deductable (unless you have that type of acctnt). Monies are being sent directly to her. If you want more detail please PM me or call me (623) 271-0617 and I will have her send you a letter that describes exactly what she will be doing. This is serious, she runs a risk of being imprisoned or even killed.

I salute you and your wife for taking up such a nobble cause. We have to look aout for all children, not just our own! As the father of a 13 year old son with cerebral palsey,and a 7 year old daughter, I cringe when I here of kids put in such situations in which they may never mentally recover. It sounds like a long shot, but consider the Gates foudation. Bill and Melinda Gates donate great sums of money to organizations to combat poverty and starvation in less developed countries. Being that this is not an organizational effort, you may not get any response from them, but it may be worth a try. Good luck and God bless.

does she have connections there? has she spent any amount of time over there? i used to live in SE Asia, spent time Thailand, and know that it can be very dangerous. i really hope she has thought this out VERY carefully.
 
you see this in Singapore and all over that part of the world.......................

I just got back from Thailand not to long ago. It is a place that you must see to understand. No matter what you see on the internet, it is by far no where what it is in person, it is very dangerous and if she has not spent time there she might want to think about what she is going. I commend her on what she is trying to do. However, for some of the girls & guys it is the only way they can feed their families. Some guys have a Sex change just so they can feed their families. Just advise her that sometimes things just stay they way they are. I just hope she knows what she is doing, and the environment she is trying to change. They are not going to let someone just come in there and change something that has been going on FOREVER.

I think she is crazy and will probaly get killed herself, and I could not sleep at night knowiung I supported her to get killed. I believe the job she is trying to do should be done by retired marines and mercenaries
 
that is one of those deals you need to go over there and do a recon mission first ,,,,check the area out you will try to help ,make sure she dont step on the wrong feet ,ask a few question ,,,,get your ducks in a row first then go back and try to help ,,,
 
Hey guys, I appreciate and understand you concern for her safety. Just about everyone she comes into contact with tells her how dangerous this is. Her only reason for going is not just to put and end to sex-trafficking(we know thats not going to happen) but to also reach out to people with the Bible and teach them about it.
Am am scanning the letter and going to attach it in this thread. Most important please pray for her, her mission and her safety.

Not too many have a pair big enough to go at this like ya'll are.

But the only problem with the situation is , this has been going on for centuries over there, an will for many to come.

But in saying that, maybe , jsut maybe , ya'll can make a difference in just one persons life , it will be worth it:rock:

no doubt its like trying to climb Mt. Everest...but one step foward is one step closer to the goal. Saving one person at a time, hopefully she will make an impact in someone's life over there and it will have a ripple effect!
 
I can see her desire to help the children but come on Thailand is not Phoenix, she could end up enslaved or dead herself. Like some of the others have said...... families are so poor there, they send their kids to the cities to make money and send it back to them in the rural areas. Doesnt make it right but the Thai govnt seems to approve. Thats what needs to change to make a difference.

well, after reading her letter, it sounds like she will be doing things in a safe and sensible manner.
