I am real curious to hear how a Mopar Cam would sound on our trucks... I LOVE the sound of my truck now (catless w/ headers) but would always be interested in having it sound even better...
If no one has a sound clip,,, maybe you guys could try and type out how it sounds... ;) HA!

ive got it but you cant tell a whole lot of difference. v 10's arent gonna lope like a v8 sorry dude:(

Thanks for your response... Out of curiousity, why specifically doesn't the V10 lope like a V8???

if im not mistaken its in how the two side's fire, never have heard but one or two that sound real lopey but they have problems idling when you put a big cam in them. roktman has a huge cam in his but rumor is he has trouble with it. only other two ive heard are boomer's and doneo's that sound like they hit pretty hard. someone may correct me.

i have a mopar cam installed in my truck. i did notice a diffrence in the lope but not a big diffrence.

im not sure how to post a sound clip if someone can tell me then i will post mine.

You can use a cam that lopes in these motors. You just need to go to a builder that knows what he's doing (like PBJ Performance). Here's my custom grind cam (Tommmmy03's truck now). It's considerably bigger than a 708 cam and is ground for torque.

Here's my stock 708 cam in my Gen II Viper.

My truck (ViperTruck2933's old truck) may not lope like a V-8 but it defiantly lopes. It sounds really good. They will idle with a big cam but you need a good tuner. It has to be really rich at idle to idle.

Oh YEAH...Sounds damn good with a cam...Love it...

if you are just after that "lope" you can take the IAC hose and block it off, then adjust the idle with the screw for the throttle body butterfly. it eliminated the pause our engines see when you let off the gas, and it made a killer "lope". only time i had any issues was in extremely cold temps it did not like to stay running, all other times it was fine at 500 Rpm's. had a real nice lope to it too :D

Or replace the variable duration lifter with a solid or regular hydraulic lifter. Stock they act like a big cam at WOT but at idle they act like a small cam. See RHODES LIFTERS.
