Southeast GTG Spring Grand Rod Run - Pigeon Forge, TN Apr 19-21

To sum it up, its a MASSIVE cruise in/car show. The event is held every spring and fall. In the past I've usually been with the f-body crowd but it would be awesome to see some SRT-10's flood the place. The reason I post now is because hotel reservation's will be booked soon unless you want to travel. I've seen tags (people) from all over the US there. By day its your typical cruise in/ car show then at night its one huge party. I haven't been in a few years and am planning on going this spring. Maybe some other people that have been can chime in and give more details. I've always had fun and hope we can get a good turn out.

Thats one thing I meant to add. For the folks that live only a few hours away, I would plan on making a day of it. I only live 2 hours away and thats what I USUALLY do. Sometimes I get to intoxicated to drive 2 hours back and have to find a hotel on the outskirts somewhere. BUT, if you're wanting to actually see all the cars and see everything that Rod Run has to offer, better make it a LONG weekend. People start getting there the week before to get a parking spot right on the strip. I would plan on getting there sometime Thurs or Friday morning. Also, for all the folks making a day of it, be there EARLY. Traffic going into Pigeon Forge can be a BITCH. I would add 1 hour to your travel time if you plan on showing up any time after 9:00AM or so. Well worth sitting in the traffic, I've done it many times.

hey Jimi i have a cousin that lives in Lenoir city. I could probably stay with him that weekend and make it. Its a little over 6 hours from where i live but i could totally make it keep me informed about it.

Its ok, I called you on such short notice. You did miss a good time though.

You're more than welcome to go, we can caravan up there if you like. I'm honestly not certain how we can pull this off. Maybe we can meet at the exit and all cruise in together, or maybe I/we can contact some business owners on the strip and see if we can rent the lot or maybe just they'll just let us use it. I need to get on the ball with that. I've honestly never planned such an event.

I'm pretty sure me and the wife can make it.. We use to go to Dollywood and Pigeon Forge when the kids where younger and we lived in Ky. Pretty country out there!

I know April far away, and for some of you guys its a long haul. As of right now all there is a bunch of maybe's and if's. If I can get some definate's and get a feel for the number of people going, I will do some research and planning and see if we can get a business to let us make use of their lot. HOPEFULLY they'll do it for free, but maybe we'll all have to pitch in a couple bucks each to guarantee us a spot and rent their lot. I honestly don't know. Maybe the VTCOA has some funds for occasions such as this. This needs to happen in the NEAR future. Thanks everyone for the interest! I hope it turns out to be a big get together! I'll get on the horn one day this week and make some calls and see whats out there. PLUS, I hope the weather permits!
