Quick question:

Planning my route for the move to big D from Jacksonville FL.....mapquest has me going 10 to Mobile, then a couple of backroads up to Jackson MS, and then 20 over to Dallas....

Is there any construction or any other concerns that would make this a bad route????

Thanks,

Jason

i-10 to hwy 98 to 49n to 20w to dallas will be about the quickest route

I can check Streets and Trips for ya, if'n you want!

They usually have pretty up to date construction info.

Ok, there are three areas that are showing construction: Between Live Oak and Saint Mary (Near Tallahassee) about 3 miles outside of 295 in Jacksonville (?).
Between Marianna and Cottondale (Bonifay Fl.) 198 miles into the trip. And Between Denham Springs and Walker (East of Baton Rouge) about 508 miles into it.

Other than that, it should be clear.

Trip stats: 1037 miles (This starts at 295 in Jax and ends at 635 in Dallas)
16 hours 21 minutes.
$219.54 in gas. Using an average of $2.75/gal and 11 city and 13 highway.
