spark plugs

I just ordered and received a set of NGK Iridiums. I have not installed them yet. Bought them off eBay for 60 plus shipping.

They are ZFR6FIX-11 or Model 6441.

These are for Normally aspirated OEM replacement. Here's the ebay link:

I asked him to put this ad in for 10 plugs for our trucks. This is the best price that Ive found to date.:)
 
Yeah I know I have them in now. I just don't think the word HONDA should be used in the add especially if it's for a set of 10. You could swap the plugs in your HONDA almost 3 times with 10 plugs.
 
Yep. I have asked him to change the title to Ram SRT-10. He did add the listing for 10 plugs though. Thats a start!:D

I use the NGK Iridiums too, 2x colder. Posted on this forum. Which I believe are used on Mini Coopers also. Judge the plugs on their characteristics.

Yes

However, they ran fine without, just ask the guys at the Nats.

Gap them appropriately for your application.
Index them if you can, probably worth a few ponies.
 
I hear that trying to gap these Iridiums can be tricky. They a supposedly fragile and can break. They actually recommend not gapping them. I read this on one of the spark plug sites.

Question, were did you find the indexing washers? I absolutely need some. I use to index the plugs on my bikes before I ran then at the track. I havent found a source for them in quite awhile.

Just tap the top of the spark plug with a wrench, not too hard, then see what the gap is, redo until completed.

The Iridium tip is a very fine point tip. This is my fourth set of them, not all on my truck, and I have not had a problem with them.

I even have a used set with about 4-5K miles on them if you want them. I had to take them out for my install anyway, then I figured might as well put some new ones in there for poops and giggles.

I haven't indexed them yet. Waiting for my heads to return home.

I also have a set of 1x colder Bosch Supers from Roe Racing that I won't be needing.
 
Im going to buy the washers from a local spead shop. Heads look like the flat type. I have the ngk zfr6fix-11. Ive crossed these and have been told these are the correct ones. Well, I just pulled my rc12ecc's out and the ngk are a much colder plug. This plug does not appear to be an exact match.

OK, can someone please explain why the supposed cross is so much colder? :confused: :dontknow:

Mine are even colder.

NGK Iridium IX, BKR7EIX-11, stock number 6988
 
It take it your motor runs fine?

I just want a reason why NGK says these are a direct cross. There's no freakin way they are. No way!

Anybody know why?

Ran fine without NOS or FI with those plugs.
 
how much are the indexing washers, we need the flat ones? special tool? which direction?
 
Flat type. Summit sells them. Moroso, Accel and CSR all make them. They come in kits of thirty. 15 to 18 bucks. Typically, you face the open gap torwards the intake valve. Ive read that in some motors, they like to be in between the intake and exhaust.

Ive done this to bikes that Ive raced. Ive never done it to a car. This will be a first for me.:D
