I noticed soon after i got my truck that the Infinity Sub was acting wierd and that the Amp was getting extremely heated to the point that I couldn't even touch it. within two weeks the Sub was somehow blow. I took it to the dealership and had another installed under the warranty. I was told that the Sub was drawing to much power causing the amp to overheat and the sub to blow. I don't listen to my music loud at all so I know it wasn't blown that way. Anyone else have this problem. I have an 05 RC incase anyone is wondering. If this is a common problem what can be done to fix it.

If the dealer told you that they sub was drawing too much power why didn't they fix it instead of just replacing it?????

no i haven't had any problems with the subs or amp. I know that there were some other people on here though that said that theirs was acting up.

you know that is a good question. I only got to play with it for a day before I left For Maryland to visit family, where I am at now.after the new install it seemed to be working fine, ut I will have to see when I go back. If not its still under warranty and I'll get them to not only replace it but fix the problem as well. They told me also that they had never heard of it happening before, which kind of surprised me, I wanted to know if anyone else had experienced the same problems or anything similar

What type of music were you playing? Some types of music is like sending Square wave to the woofer, but it sounds like something else is going on....send me some info and let me dig a little bit.

Square wave is way bad for a woofer, its more Techno music and house that has the ability to do this because of the synthesized bass. Typically its cause by the amp cliping and loosing control therefore sending a nasty sine wave, ie square wave to the woofer which would kill it quickly. Its possible you had a bad amp, these things happen. Keep me posted if you have the problem again, I work for the aftermarket div, but don't want to see you have a continious problem.
Don't see it coming from Disturbed, and I agree nothing like a little sickness crankin out of a seriously powered set of components.

Cool thanks for the help. I guess I'll just wait and see what happens with the new set on there now.
