The feeling one gets when they receive in the mail a hefty ticket for speeding is extremely bad, but the cop-dodging experts at Cobra have come up with a terrific tool. Cobra's XRS R9G is the first US laser and radar detector that utilizes GPS Navigation to warn drivers of known speed trap cameras. Cobra is keeping track of traps all over the US, and anyone that purchases the $449 device can also load updates from the Cobra website. Cobra is also working towards using GPS to alert drivers of upcoming school or construction zones, as well as giving owners notice when they're about to enter a high risk accident zone.

The XRS R9G also signals the driver of any laser or radar guns, finally giving drivers the trifecta of protection against the unwanted ticket. Like it or not, speed cameras are on the rise, and with smaller cameras being produced all the time, they're getting harder to detect. Cobra's XRS R9G is the first product to market to come up with a solution that gives drivers a fighting chance... to speed and get away with it.

most portable gps systems in australia have know speed camera and radar locations inbuilt so they warn you about upcoming pigs....

works well, especially down south where the fines are huge.

Pigs.................................? :eek::dontknow:

D

I put speed traps POI on my Tomtom... works fine but obviously only not with patrols moving here and there

Passport has GPS but not to the extent that Cobra has taken it. The GPS in the Passport 9500 only captures persistent signals in the same location and then deletes repeated alerts to things like Walgreens and Target, etc.

Sounds like Cobra has taken this to a new level!

It's a term usually employed by those who hate cops............

As an ex-cop, I'm just surprised that the term is still in use (except in prisons) and just a bit concerned that I'm (albeit indirectly) being referred to as such....

No personal offense taken, bro..... I just resist the notion that I am (or ever was) a pig.....;) :D

I refer to them as, Yes officer.:D ;)

I tried the yes officer thing Thursday when the state PoPo had me on side of hwy 90. He got me at 80 in a 70. I had the V-1 at the ready, but he was only popping the suspicious ones. It was early in the morning and no one was on the road so I was the only target. He was nice, asked me a lot of questions about the RC, I was very nice also hoping he was going to turn the other way and forget this little indiscretion but alas, the more he talked and asked questions the more that little ink pen went to work. When it was all said and done he asked me how fast it was. I told him had he clocked me on the other side of the bride he would have known. He laughed and went on to do his other state popo duties. Chalk one up for the defense.
