Spider and Side gears?

Lets just hope they get the job done for you in time for the GTG.
I will get there one way or the other. They should be done with it tommorow. But I am more worried about road conditions than anything.

Come on, please share.
Got the truck back today and had some other things done while it was there. But they stole......................are you ready for this.......................

$973 for changing the gears, tranny fluid and band adjustment, and lowering shackles.

I could have done the work my self and screwed a bunch of stuff up and still would have been cheaper.

Yep, some people out there are rip off artists

Sorry, but it still looks good :D

I remember when Maui/srt-10 replaced his gears Unitrax just sent him a complete carrier assembly instead of swaping parts.

That is correct. In Unitrax's instructions they say to make sure you inspect the spider gears before installing the new gears..............not being a gearhead I thought you got to them via the rear end.:dontknow:

Sorry you got hosed with the overpriced bill and all. I hope in the end their work was good and your satisfied with how your truck drives.

Again I am not a mechanic but written in the Unitrax instructions they said to inspect the spider gears for wear before installing the new gears. My assumption was they are located in the rear end diff area.:dontknow: I dont know.

Ok I think I gotcha. BTW I am no mechanic either. The spider gears are located inside the diff carrier.

The truck is all done:rock: . It is now road worthy for a road trip:burnout: . Oh except for the TPS sensor. I am having the dealer scan the truck to double check it. Part should also be in today and I will have it incase i need to change it out.

So I figured I better swap out the pcm so they don't erase my flash. It is a good thing it doesn't take too long to do. It is a warm 6 degrees outside right now.

That is all for now Chuck:D
