okie dokie, as I read more I naturally have more questions. is there some software out there for the box that I can get ahold of? I went to the website and rooted around.

http://www.splitsec.com/

seems like something I could do myself for some minimal tuning without doing to much damage.

I have the software CD somewhere I could burn for you. I just gotta find it.

Liteemup that would be cool if it wouldn't be to much trouble for ya, looks like the device is a FTC1.(fuel timing controller.)
did you use this for some basic tuning? I would still need to keep this even if I were to upgrade to a SCT since it controls the fuel pumps.?

As mentioned in the post before the way to go is with bigger injectors and the SCT. Figure that is gonna set you back about $1200 - $1500 including dyno time. If you do that you won't need to use the split second controller or the jumper pumps. Now I'm still using the split second and pumps, but eventually I will go with the bigger injectors and the SCT which allows you to run more timing thus making more hp because the stock system doen't flow enough fuel. Basically the pumps are to compensate for the lack of fuel the stock injectors provide (sort of forcing more fuel through the injectors than they flow). In addition, to controling the pumps the split second box also allows you to regard engine timing. I could get you a copy of the split second software and send you a copy of my tune to get you started, but remember you need to have to get it dyno tuned for WOT. You will also probably need to tweek closed loop mode as well.

interesting. yes a copy of your tune would be nice. is it different than the stock tune put in the box from paxton? I will also be running a wideband to monitor A/F ratio's. just got that in today from stinker actually.

unfortunately, I'm not sure if there is anyone that is proficient in the split second box in my area. so I think I will be changing it over to a SCT real soon. in which case a whole bunch more questions pop up.

The tune is diffinetly different from the stock tune from Paxton. If your going to the SCT I would just wait and until you have that and not bother installing the pumps or the split second box that way you don't have to cut up your wire harness. Make sure that the injectors you get are flow matched (very important).

hmm. so your just running the modified tune from the split second box?

The short answer to your question is "No". Give me a call cause if I try to explain this in written form I'll be typing for a while.
