Anyone used one?

The Cam Tuner is a plug-and-play solution that compensates for the installation of aggressive cams in Dodge Hemi, SRT-10 and Viper applications. Aggressive cams result in a fuel mixture that is too rich at light load. The Cam Tuner features a single internal adjustment that can be used to fine tune for a wide range of cam profiles.
The Cam Tuner is easy for an end user to install. It works along with the stock PCM to adjust the fuel mixture at light load without changing the mixture at high loads. When set correctly, the Cam Tuner restores the original high fuel economy, low emissions and quick throttle response of the stock engine. more

Gary, there is some confusion about flashing the pcm and using the VEC III...what exactly is accomplished by the flash?

Not in closed loop. VEC has no control (i.e. correcting your Idle).

Not your IDLE RPM speed, but everything else you can. My truck had to be tuned for the pcm running it rich at idle because of my big cam (and vacuum changes). The artilce you posted references using this product for correcting that issue.

Joe corrected it on my truck by tuning with the VEC 2. The tuner just has to know what he's doing. ;)

hmmm....what's a VEC, never heard of it.

The article I referenced is for a cam tuner at light load (idle, clsd loop).

 ...It's that thingamajig you already have on your truck. :dontknow:

My truck with a big cam idles and runs great without it. :D :D :D I just don' t think that system will do anything that the VEC doesn't already do. :dontknow:

So does mine (SRT), but I know someone's SRT that doesn't (you know who I am talking about)- too aggressive of a cam. Plus, I was looking at it for my hemi with an upgraded cam.

Call Dave or Sean, they will explain the VEC issue with clsd loop at idle. I don't know what else to tell you?

Anyhow, anyone have experience with split second controllers in conjunction with idle/light low rpms?

I believe "You know who's" could be fixed with some VEC tuning by PBJ. ;) And I have told him so.

I think it would work great on your Hemi truck. Bob (WeldedHemi) was talking to me about using it on his Hemi-Ram.:)

Skip it all and do an AEM system.:D

Is this a plug and play system? Product #? Link? I have been hearing good things locally about AEM and the viper engine. It seems a while back I had heard something about someone developing a harness that would allow it to plug right in? Maybe I was just dreaming!

Thanks,

Yeah, I think they are about $3-4k for the gen 2 vipers. I have not heard much about the gen 3 engines though?
