It came out of the blue one day. Started it up and I heard this.

I've gone underneath the truck and tightened some clamps remaining on my exhaust pipes. Checked the crank pulley bolt, it's still tight. Been spraying around to no avail. Does this sound like belt related or bearing?

And does the engine sound alright from what you can hear?

Video

Kinda hard to tell from video. Engine sounds good. I would guess belt tensioner but you will probably have to stick a stethoscope on some things to find it. Sounded like it was more prominent in the left front though, but that could be injectors and lifters which is normal. I'm sure you'll have a hundred opinions:D :D :D

Good luck!

I would also guess the tensioner, Mine froze up and shredded the belt.:(

Aftermarket oil filter? They've been known to cause a squeaking noise.

That is more of a whine, Than a squeak i think.:dontknow:

No, in fact it continues the whole time. It doesn't matter if it's a cold or warm start either. It worries me though...

I'll be parking the truck to be on the safe side. I should be waiting till my tail lights come in, so I should order a new belt and tensioner for back up. The black housed tail lights would have been fine if it weren't for the rumble to draw the attention where it need not be... haha

Is it wise to change the belt if the belt looks good? sometimes new belts can break.
And the tensioner, ...I gotta say... that word scares me as that's what gave in my last vehicle. But I suppose if it wasn't for that I wouldn't be part of the SRT-10 club and the great group of people here.

I would pull the belt off and spin each pulley by hand see if any are rough or hard to turn if you have access to a stethascope listen to each pulley whe you turn them and listen for any noise they should be quiet. The. If you think you have found it start the truck for a moment without the belt and there should be no noises at all.

My belt makes noise till its warmed up then its nice and quite. I would check what oil filter you have and with a stethascope check the rocker arms. One might be going away.
