after 2 months and 3 trips to the dealership (2 to the shi** one and one to the good one). after paying for new power steering belt/labor on first visit, which did not fix the problem. I waited till my next oil change and mentioned it again. that stated tech cannot duplicate problem. I duplicated it pulling out of the parking lot,j ust the way i told them to do it. I took it to the good dealership (thanks for the heads up larry). viper tech looked at it said the seal on the rack is leaking and it will be fixed under warranty. they also offered to call the other dealership and discuss a possible refund for parts and service which were not needed. I doubt I will ever see that money again, but I was blown away by their offer to call. if you are ever in northeast tennessee and need service got to alley's dodge.

problem half solved. no squeeky when turning wheel now. just picked up the truck yesterday and was pleased not to hear the annoying noise when turning while driving home, but.....upon starting this morning (and most notably when moisture present but not always ie lots of dew or overnight rain) got awful squeeling sound and difficulty turning wheel for a few minutes then problem goes away. is my power steering belt getting wet or is this the pump. anyone else have this problem. i guess its back to the dealership.

Prolly the belt got wet. Last time I started mine in the rain or shortly after rain, it squeeled like a SOB and I couldn't turn the wheel hardly. Where I was parked, the truck was facing up a hill and the rain came in through the scoop.
