SRT-10 on Unique Whips

I can't believe they thought the stock rims looked bad. WTF? BTW nice truck, hows the amp laying next to your seat like? Does it get too hot? Also is the head unit equipped with navigation? I missed the part where they described the components.
Thanks. The amps don't get to hot, the 1211a is larger sub amp which is on the bottom of the rack and that would be the one to get hot first. If it sits all day playing they will get warm but nothing to hot to handle. No nav as of yet, just DVD310. As for the components its got a pair of Kappa Perfect 6.1's, might swap them out for the Kappa 60.7cs if I have time and if they fit as the rings Gary made were for the perfects.

You know that guy Gary was badass, he knew is shit. I bet he sure taught some lessons while he was there!
Yeah Gary rocks, no doubt he's one of the best, and whats even better about him is he so down to earth. Always willing to lend a hand and help out and loves to teach people how do glass etc. Also one of the very few people to ever get a perfect install score from IASCA, his Regal has one best sounding car in the world 3 years running now.

Sounds cool, I wanna see some pics, very few people have decided to spend the money on the audio vs. performance, which is completely understandable. I'll be getting some performance buffs soon enough but the way I'm building it, I think it should get some air time after I've done some car shows. check out my links, they're outdated pics, lots of new stuff coming soon though

I have some high res I can email, waiting on my IT guys to post it on our site so I can post them here

i bet the owner of that truck dished out around 30,000 for everything they rigged up on the truck

the only thing i was remotely interested in was the stereo install they didn't do a bad job

OK, those dude are on Long Island correct? Well that explains why most people cant stand that attitude. The STR comment was so lame!!! I guess Gary is the dude that did the stereo install? He was the one whom "tuned" the system? That was impressive.

But the part I cant believe was that they drove your truck dude!!:dontknow:

So how do the 24's feel on the beast? Did you loose any power with em?

Yea they are up on the Island, and alot of the "attitude" is reality TV, Will is acutally a cool guy to hang with for the most part. Hard to tell if there is a loss of power or not, I guess we'll have dyno it with them and then swap to an OE set and run it. I'm sure they are a little bit heavier so rotating mass equation comes into play but being that we have a problem with traction they might help in some cases. It rides just fine, there is still quite a bit of side wall, 315 35 24's and it will still smokem with out trying  Gary was acutally the one who drove the truck in the shoot(we wanted to get some driving shots of it), did the install and tuned the system. I know how to tune as well but I wasn't there and he is much better at it than I am, he's the man at stuff. Like working on a project with him so I can learn and improve my own skills. I remember banging out a set of glass amp pods for a car in an afternoon with him, was cool. As for the STR commment, yeah I hear ya, some of us can just speak better than others.....

sure, I'll take you up on those pics, any way to download that episode? I'd like to see it too.
I have it on my Tivo, don't know how to upload from that, it will be airing on Speed all this week, just check their site for times, the episode is called Silver Bulit. What is the limit for your email? Each pic is 5+MB

uh, [email protected] should be relativly limitless, but I'm having problems with my web host at the moment, but give it a shot though
I'm traveling on the tour right now so give me a lil time and I'll get them out to you....

The products they use are garbage! Im sorry but when was the last time JBL was in a winning show truck for IASCA??NEVER! JL audio,MMats, PIONEER<ALPINE, maybe Audiobahn, but not JBL. And all that crap they had stuck to the dash looked like crap!! Ill post up some pics of my Escalade and show you what a real show truck stereo install is. Those guys are like circuit city or Best Buy.

For the most part I think they are pretty knowledgable. The only part I disagree with , is the use of spray cans to do the interior pieces. If you get a chance , take a look at the buyers guide issue of Car Audio magazine. The Tony Stewart hearst is featured. Reme, Gary Biggs, Fishman Rivera, Steve Brown of Alpine, along with The crew at Unique, turned out a very nice show vehicle.

I agree! Normally, I hate their installs. Actually, I hate the show too, but there is something that keeps me watching in amazment as those guys put out crappy work and their customers still like the stuff they turn out. They are done quickly and look cheesey. My favorite was when they did a Dodge Magnum and used like 20 cans of spray paint to cover the entire interior! The owner loved it. :dontknow: :(

Although, in defense of InfinitySRT, it appeared they were using Infinity components and the guy that did the system install knew his schit!

I competed in the IASCA (db SPL - DB Drag division) for many years (back in the days) and won MANY MANY 1st place titles. On of my loudest was 162.8....In my vehicle I had 12 (yes 12/ea) - 12" JLW3, with 6/ea 500a2 Rockford amps. So Blake is correct on the quality/name brands, but IASCA looks at many things and most of it is the install not the quality of sound.... (but they do take into consideration the quality quite a bit too) :)

Hopefully infinity can take some pics and show us the truck, I'd love to see it!!

Are you F#*king kidding me? Have you seen the IASCA USCAI rosters lately, Team JBL took more Trophies then anyone last season, PERIOD! We have set numerous world records this season just at SBN alone, open your eyes before you make a nasty opinon based comment:mad: check out the lastest stats....http://jbl.com/car/featured/team/default.aspx?Language=ENG&Country=US&Region=USA
Not to mention that Biggs' car has been named the best sounding car in the world by ISACA 3 years running and he's using all JBL gear in his car that anyone can buy off the shelf. Add to that he's one of the only people to ever get a Perfect install score from ISACA. It might not be the most crazy install we've ever done but I'd like to see you do better in 3 days, think before you type....As for the shop, some time you gotta do what you gotta do for publicity and marketing but the bottom line is it was good gear installed by one of the top 10 installers in the US at their shop.....end of story.

Got my little system installed at a local shop in KY. I personally think they did a great job. But its like almost nobody here has gone with any sort of audio upgrade.
