SRT-10 vs an oak tree

How does insurance work with keeping parts? I'm getting 2 new rims for my truck due to the guard rail. Anyway I can keep the old ones?

Mine were so beat up, they were worthless. So I didn't even ask. But I should have kept the rotor and caliper. They looked like they were still in good shape.

Just tell them you want the old part, the most they can say is no

Looking at the damage, it looks as if all the same parts that were damaged on mine are damaged on yours, except for the hood. I only got a scratch. But knowing whats on that side of the engine bay, I can only imagine the damage to wiring.

Mine was about 15k to rebuild. I betting that yours will be a lot more, just because of labor and wiring. I know you'll need new steering and suspension pieces like I did. The fender is cheap, the hood is not.

I'm not an adjuster and have no earthly idea, but comparing it to mine, I'd say closer to 20k.

Good luck man.

I do know how you feel

My rims are just rashed real bad. They are still driveable and don't look that bad. But I would like to keep them. I don't know why I want to keep them, just do.

Just filed a moving claim...not much and nothing to do with the Truck...but the on-line messages said that without the old items being turned in the award would be 25% less...you might want to check with the adjuster and see if he will be a good guy and not collect the old rims, and maybe you can get the full compensation.
