I have an '06 RC with the OEM grille. I have seen several photos lurking aorund here that show some trucks with the SRT emblem affixed to the grille. I want to do the same thing with mine and I am trying to figure what the best method is or how to apply/install the emblem. I would prefer something beyond 3M molding tape and hoping it will stay attached to the grille.

Any advice or install details? I appreciate the feedback.

I just went through a thread for you that Black1 started when he installed his SRT emblem. Here is what he did...

The SRT badge is a OEM piece from the front grill of a Charger SRT-8. It's all one piece, so I just drilled two holes and used small black zip-ties to secure it to the grill.

Hope this helps!

The tape on the back of the emblem is very strong and holds it on very well. I also applied some gel super-glue and used the smallest black zip-ties I could find and used them on the outer tips of the emblem. The only way the emblem is coming off is if someone rips the grill out and you have to be within a foot of the emblem to see the zip ties.

I Had a Honeycomb grill on my 05 RC and sanded off the small tab and then Zip tied the to ends together to pinch them together and press against the honeycomb openings.

EMT/SRT, thanks and thanks to all. I remember when I had my 06 Magnum SRT8, I purchased the 07 emblem (for the Magnum), simple snap-in install, no adhesive backing. I like the idea of no sticky tape and wire ties will work for me. Thanks again, and off to the drawing board. I'll post up some pics when done.

It does have a nice look....

Yes, that is a nice truck. I wanted to get the honeycomb inserts for my 06 RC and found out that I had to purchase the entire shell assembly (something like $450.00 for the assembly, less paint work and install). I just couldn't buy the inserts and 05 inserts no workee.

i moved mine to the bottom where it would just snap in.

I have JMB's powder coated mesh.

Best I could come up with was Goop. The stuff oozed around the mesh and will never come out. Probably be the last thing to come off of the truck!;)

Your grill comes-out real easy...we went with ultra flat black to match the head-lites.

pic soon....

Yes, the OEM inserts look like they come out pretty easy. Once the black plastic air diverters are removed, the grille itself simply snaps onto the shell with retaining clips, not those rivet thingy's that have to be drilled (or carefully removed). My problem came into play when I was told I couldn't just buy the honeycomb inserts for my 06 RC because Chrysler only sold them as part of the grille/shell assembly. :dontknow:
