Hello all,

I went to the SRT Experience at VIR yesterday, and what a hoot! I don't believe I've ever had so much fun. Where else would someone hand you the keys to practically new rides and tell you to go have some fun. And I don't mean fun like this is interesting. I mean fun like go as hard as you want to go.

I took my brother as a guest, and our first experience was the road course. We drove the SRT 8 Chargers first. They were a blast, but I found the power to be a little erratic. They came on strong, but it was like they were either all or nothing. Then came the SRT 6 Crossfires. Talk about fun. They had a pretty good top speed, but the real fun for them was the cornering. I had mine in some pretty good powerslides a few times. These cars would be fun to do some drifting in.

The real hoot of the day was driving the SRT 8 300c. What a car for a production model. These cars were balanced well, great range of power, and handled like a much smaller car. I was drafting the pace car down the straight at about 125 mph. Maybe a little faster, but you don't have much time to be looking at the speedometer. That bad boy went through the turns like a dream.

Of course I am saying all this thinking I was such a good driver, keeping up with the instructor in the pace car and all. (He was driving a SRT8 Magnum).
But then it humbled me a bit when here I was driving my ass off, and he was in a car full of people, talking to them, and talking on the radio also.

The rest of the program was fun, really fun, but the road course part was the best by far.

I would highly recommend this to anybody that can go. It was really a blast.

I only saw three other Ram SRT 10 brethren there. Were they anyone from here? If so I am sorry we didn't get to talk.

I just wanted to share my experience with you guys. It was great fun. My brother now wants one of the Jeep SRT 8's. I hope he gets one so I can be his guest when they go to Infineon in California.

Thanks all,

The SRT Experiance sounds like a great deal of fun.

When I bought my first truck in 04 Dodge charged for the day. I did not want to pay so I passed. Now that I have heard about it more it makes me wish that I had done it.

Great write up.

Congrats!! Yea, that is a beautiful course up there. Wish I could have went...Glad someone hit it :D
