Yes I did.....

Pulled out the 6 disc and put in the Nav unit.....

Works like a champ

2005 QC

Got it from the dealer....

It was way to much 1400.00 I think

There are cheaper Nav units you can buy. I wanted to make sure I got a Nav Unit that worked with the controls on the steering wheel. That's why I got the OEM version.

It also has the capabilities of the CD Changer, Sirius Radio which I have not done yet.

Called the dealer friday and they took my vin and told me 2200 and i have to install.

Thats the price they gave me for the Nav unit and 6 Disc Changer. Otherwise they quoted you the wrong unit. They quoted you the one that comes in the Magnum (Bigger Screen). It's doesn't fit in the SRT-10 unless you have a sawsall to make a bigger hole

Tell your dealer to use lube next time.
The RB1 units (for 2006 trucks), new in box w/warranty, are all over Ebay for less than $600.
RB4 units (for 2004/2005 trucks) can be had for $300-ish.
COMPARISON CHART: http://home.comcast.net/~mr.scsi3/RB1_RB4.HTML

Go to Ebay and search for "Dodge RB1" or "Dodge RB4". Done.

The only thing I HATE about the RB4 is that it won't display the time. It will do all this other awesome shit, but it won't put the time up on the main display for more than 10 seconds.
I wish I was kidding.

does it come with the antenna and will it fit in the 06 spot. i think i need the cover that goes around the unit also. mine is silver and isnt square like in my wifes jeep. how much im interested for sure. i have the 06 first edition nav dvd from my wifes commander. she has already bought the upgrade dvd for her jeep.

yes that was for the 6 cd unit. im just afraid i wont be able to hook it up. i cant imagine how much stuff there is to hook up with the steering wheel controls the amp and speakers and the drop down dvd in the rear. not to mention where do you put the antenna on the truck. but im sure if i find a unit that someone on here has done it. i think this is the unit #REC Unit # 05064184AC /AD

here is the link to the ebay sale of the one i am looking for.

would like to purchase the outside cover (dash piece that goes around it) and the antenna also.

Oh, you're looking for the big screen "REC" one. Gotcha.

www.ebay.com
LOL
Under $900, new in box, 1 yr. warranty, and all the goodies.

QUESTION FOR 2006 OWNERS:
Did any 06 vehicles come with an RB1 unit?
Or am I mistaken that the RB1 was an option?

thanks for the help kevin. your close enough for a midwest gtg. you should come on over.

ok in case there may be others out there with 06s the rec 5.8 screen is 2200 from the dealer. but its 1099.00 new with 1 year warranty on ebay. you will also need bezel oem part # 1bn391z2ab that is the silver and carbon fiber from the dealer its 415.00. i dont know the part number for the wood grain and silver but there is one on ebay right now for 69.00.

so are you saying the 05 RB4 does or does not fit with your plan? I have the RB4, you will have to buy the antenna.

they dont make a bezel for the 06 that will work with the rb4. they only make one for the 6 disc without rec nav or the 6disc w/rec nav. but i sure could save money if they did.

at least thats what the dealer said.

Call Crutchfield, if there is a bezel adapter made, then they will carry it, and it will be less than at the dealer.

patrick at avondale gave me a sweet price on the bezel for the rec....my dealer 415.00 patrick 318.74. hes the man.....plus the ebay guy gave me 125.00 for my stock am/fm 6 disc so all total its gonna cost me 1292.74. dealer cost 2200.00 plus 415.00 = 2615.00 plus .06 % sales tax. 156.90. total 2771.90 not installed.. i saved 1479.16 woo hoo.

I ust went through this with my '06. I think either the dash is different from'05 to '06 (can't remember for sure) and the nav radio changed from '05 to '06 (in the Ram anyways).

Mcrodney, you were quoted full boat list price, DON'T PAY IT. I have the new bezel sitting in the box right beside me in my office (waiting on me to get off my butt and do the install). Part number 1BN391Z2AB that I paid $269 (b4 tax). It pays to have friends in the parts department. I think my cost on the REC nav radio was $1400 or $1600.

you missed my earlier post my total is 1292.74 which is cheaper than you paid for the unit from the dealer. my unit is costing me 974.00 and the bezel 318.00 but thanks for the part number in case someone else missed it i posted it on the 2nd page.....
