SRT10 QC vs. 09 Corvette Auto

:rock: First this is contrary to the post I made about the truck running like crap, but it didn't seem to affect a WOT run!!
ON my way to work the other morning and an older gentleman pulls next to me at the light in a brand new base model Vette with dealer tags still on her. We have a long stretch ahead in a industrial area of little traffic so I knew what I was thinking, but what was he?
Well I goose it a lil to raise the bumper to see if he is ready to try that new Vette out, and I'll be danged if he didn't jump back at me. Oh... it's on old timer, he-he I giggled. Actually thinking I'd have my ass handed to me, but what a way to start the day of work, right? Well light turns green and he didn't jump when I did so I just let off and cruised about 10 mph till he came back up then he looked at me and nodded. I heard him mash and simultaneously I did the same and let me tell you, by 90 he was on my back bumper and literally inching up. We have to let off and he pulls back up at the next light with a huge grin (shocked grin) and gave me a huge thumbs up! It totally made my day and to know my truck is running that good although running rough with normal driving. I relly don't want to jinx it yet. but I have an old Trans Am of mine that a buddy now owns, and we ran 3 times and it was similar to the Vette, back bumper. Well, come to find out that last weekend, after he ran me, he went to our local track and pulled off several 12.90s at 106. Needless to say I can't wait to hit the track and see a 12 second slip on my QC truck. I know it'll piss Ryan ( Farenheit)the hell off if I do it before him.:burnout:
I also put the OWN on a 2006 LS2 GTO about a month or so ago, so I am feeling good except for the drivability issues.

Good Job! I hope you do hit the 12's cuz its going to be a while til I can.....got to figure out whats up with my truck. Im going to take it out again this weekend on a side road to see if its still shifting too early in th 2-3. Literally I got nothing out of the truck after dumping $4K into it.........maybe time to do a dyno tune

Yeah I have been following your progress and didn't really expect you to be the first to read this post, so as not to think I was bragging. What I have been really tempted to do is meet up with you somewhere and we could try swapping sensors around to try and cure both of our issues. Yours could aso have to do with that stupid idea of the Throttle Valve cable needing adjustment. That gear change surely killed your times. I have been wanting to get into the 12s since you inspired me at the track last year with your 13.06 at 106. I was like Mine is shit , then I walked over and talkied to you about your mods and the sickness began. Hopefully we can both claim 12s in a QC with no power adders this year.

I didnt change my gears, I got a 3000 stall in my transmission......its almost too much. I figured I should have a solid 1.9 - 1.8 60' time, but its the same 2.0 as usual. Im off this weekend, so let me know whats up.......I was also planning to meet up with some guys on sunday from houstonperformancetrucks.com

Sure, why not! Whatcha got in her? What's the SC 3865 and FM 50? Could be a Supercharger and intercooler? I'll still be game, and I know the good spots.

lol no its not a supercharger i wish. its just a programmer and im running a custom shift schedule with no torque management and the fm is flowmaster but i have a cutout and its always open. u would obviously kick my a$$ but i think it would still be fun lol

You should buy my whole hemi motor and stall out my wrecked truck, get a sct tuner and then you'll have alot better chance

Oh it has a cam in it....A lil too big to run with stock heads which is why i have a set of Stu's Big Valve heads and a nice SCT to tune her with......I ran a best of 13.8 with a shitty 60ft of 2.0 on that run...And that was on heavy stock 20's with big 305/50's on it.....the only thing i removed was rear sub box, tailgateand spare so the motor has alot more potential with a lil better tunning since i was running a basic tune......get a good tune, 17's with dr's and i bet the motor has a low 13 or even a high 12 if your set up is right :rock:

I was mad that it was wrecked before i could really get it set up good but damn im sure happy i have a SRT now
