Folks - any interest in a steel bellhousing? I'm talking to a bunch of companies and have a couple interested. When the clutch comes apart these aluminum bellhousings just shatter and in my case shattered the block.

It's a good idea considering the HP some of the members are pumping out.

For that matter those with the Automatics should consider wrapping it in a blanket for safety.

A blanket is a good idea for autos. A blanket would not have prevented the damage I have though..but with a steel bellhousing it would have been a relatively easy fix...

Any pictures or possible prices?

We all should consider either a scatter shield or a steel bellhousing...tell me more.

And a cloaking device.

No pictures...one doesn't exist yet. It seems building an SFI bellhousing is not really possible as the flywheel is recessed into the block and the bellhousing would need to extend into the block and there isn't enough space.

That all being said I seems a SFI strength housing can be custom made for our trucks for about 850-950 depending on how many we can have made.

Please let me know your thoughts...

A scatter shield and an ultrabell would do the trick . J&W makes aluminum ultrabells for alot of racing applications.

That would work with a auto but not with t56. You would have to cut the front of the tranny off from what they told me. A scatter shield won't prevent it from tearing apart your engine.
