I've began to notice that the 12 o'clock position of my steering wheel is beginning to peel. Have anyone here had this happen? I would like to know if this is common, before I let one of my techs make fun of me for being to picky.

I have the same thing starting. Someone said their dealer replaced it but was back to the same way in no time. I'm just dealing with mine.

it just suks thats all, you would think they would have made a better design on it!

Ya mine is peeling at 3 o'clock! Maybe ill see if they will replace it under warranty!

My dealer replaced mine about a year ago under warranty....I have noticed that it is starting to peel again though.. .....I'm gonna wait until the last day of my warranty...Nov 2009...and get it replaced again..

Mine did it too at 10,000 miles and the dealer refused to warranty it. Said it was normal wear and not covered. I didn't push it since it was only two little tiny spots. I babied it until it was sold. Let the new owner deal with the warranty battle. Definitely crappy materials used on the top section of the steering wheel. The rest of the interior help up great.

If you will apply a leather conditioner to the wheel once a month, then put a steering wheel cover over it you will be ok,thats what I have done and it looks as good as the day I bougth the truck.

Has happened to lots of us...most with warranty left get it replaced.

Django has a vendor in Texas that does primo work on covering steering wheels, mine will go to him this winter.

Only on perfect days, to and from car shows, and an occasional trip to the gas station.

May drive it 150 miles on Tuesday, found an old girl friend from college days on Face Book...meeting her for lunch...she is only 60 miles away:D :D :D

I thought that's why mine is peeling so bad I've been driving bout 40 miles a day for the past few months. I'm gonna throw it at warrenty and make them pay. They designed it not me!

Sorry to hear about all you alls troubles...:( Mine is still holding up great and with 26,000 miles on her. Daily driver for the first year I owned her. I'll keep an eye on mine now. I do put leather conditioner on it frequently though... Too bad its out of warrantee if it does start peeling...

I really don't like how "cheap" the SRT-10 wheel is... I'm big on having a nice steering wheel. I had an Audi that I installed a $1400 RS4 European wheel. It was fantastic. Nothing touched my Alcantera Competition Package wheel on my '05 ZCP M3 thought. That was buttery soft. :)

clean your sweaty palms you filthy bastages, for mechanics the oil you don't wash of your hands with eat leather very quickly and also the sweat and oil from our palms also destroy it all mine with leather or pleather steering wheel have faded bad or peeled ( I can be a slob sometimes) but on this truck like the others said leather conditioner or leather water repelant works, just make sure you leave the windows down and put a Fan in there for a 1/2 hr ( the repellant last a little bit longer). Must be Oil of Olay Beauty lotion that is eating at mine...:p :D
