anyone ever mess with one of these trucks stereo ,s yet ???

Did you hook the wires in the dash? Maybe you have to run the wires straight to the speaker/crossover.

yes, sounds like you have the infinity system i have a pioneer head unit in my99' so i know it will work. by the way didn't you receive my PMS' james?

Ironhead, I have done alot of installs of Dodge's in general. I am assuming you are talking about the dash speakers that are 3.5 inch and are very shallow???

To be honest most of the time the speakers are blown or on their way out. Are you sure they were working before? (Just making sure) If they were the best thing to do is to start eliminating things. If you take one of the speakers out of the dash and temporarily hook a different one to it, see if it plays. If it doesn't then could be a ohmage issue (that would be weird) or ??? (not sure) Most of the time it is the speaker is going bad. Some headunits are much more sensitive than others. If one speaker has a shorted voice coil then one radio might play it but another won't.

If I was working on it, I would take the 3.5 in speakers out and test each one seperately. If you don't have a multi-meter, you can test the speaker by using a 9 volt battery (If you do have a meter test the ohmage of the speaker) If it measures something that is not readable or stable, then its that speaker.

The speakers of the dashes of the rams, caravans, etc seem to rot in the sun and disintegrate.

Hope this helps:eek: If something is unclear or you got another question post it up!
