OK this is for all the dudes that have the 4.10's and dont plan to SC. You must get the 4.88 gears. Everytime I drive my truck and come upon a situation where I can nail it in first and slam second I get a f#cking grin like you wouldnt believe!!!! I literally blow off the tires in first gear everytime I slam the gas......sometimes without full throttle. We are talking tires spinning, screetching, fishtailing then bam into second more spinning, screetching then the rear just squats and the truck digs hard forward. It is awesome!!! Driving through traffic you always have power on tap when you need to pass or whatever. I am having so much fun, I felt compelled to let you guys know, these gears rock!

So if your 04 feels like its lacking power:dontknow: and want to add some kick to your rig:D ......Well you know what to do now!! I imagine all the guys whom have done this mod will completly agree with me. And for you whom have done it, ever notice how the rpms just fly up to 5k now? Its amazing how fast they climb now.

4.56's get close to the same reaction.;) :D

Patrick,

I would love to see how your truck would react to a set of Boomer's traction bars.

Have you gone or plan to go to the track again?

Will

My 04 breaks em loose in first and second WITH the 4.10s.

Runs 13.07 to boot. What kind of times have you all posted with 4.88s :dontknow: :dontknow:

Have not been back to the track yet. You do have headers and flash though, I do not (on my wishlist!) With the stock gears I did break the tires loose in first, but just not like now and not everytime. Your truck is fast dude, no doubt about it.....it would only be even faster with gears IMO.

BTW........I love your truck, voted for ya this month!!

I went from 4:10 to a whole new 4:56 axle from an "06 and it was a very noticable difference.:dancing: I dont plan on any lower gears since I am about done with my Paxton install :burnout: , and anything lower would be a waste. But if I were gonna go N/A permanently , I would go 4:88 or lower.Just my .02.

Love the color and stance of the truck .

Thanks for the kudo's.

I know you guys have noticed the 4.88s to be more responsive down low but I am wondering what it does to your ET on the top end of the 1/4. I'd like to see a comparo of runs with just the gear change.

Keep up the good work. :burnout:

Just scroll down a bit......John Stuttle knocked off 2/10's and gained 2 mph
I saw that. But Stuttle also has CalTracs and adjustable drag shocks and drag radials. He also never said if that better run was on the drag radials or street tires. :dontknow:

Just wanted to see if some of you other guys with 4.88s were able to duplicate his results on street tires. :burnout:

Ah.Hopefully have my 4.56's in this friday. At least I hope so.

You don't have to be at a dead stop to drag, rolling with these gears and its all over. Just don't get as much time between shifts and need to watch the tach. I don't like 1st gear as much, so I make sure I'm rolling in second, and it still gets loose.

Anybody know if the 06 has the same stock gear as 04-05 ?
The 04's has 4.10's and the 05's and 06's has 4.56's.

That explains why I can just throttle it in first with the clutch out and spin em up pretty good when others were saying they coudn't  :burnout:

Drove Uniboy's truck with the 4.88's the other day and it makes my already slow truck feel even slower:( Gotta get me some 4.88's:burnout:
