Just got back from trip to N.C.Went to the coca cola 600 race.I bought tickets from e-bay back in march.Got to the track and did the ingest as much beer in the shortest amount of time thing.Walked what seemed like miles to get to the track.Had a heavy ass cooler with us too.To try and make a long story a little shorter, went to our seats and there were 2 guys sitting there.Asked them to see tickets and BAM,they had the same tickets as us!!Told by the usher we had to walk back down to ticket office and fight the fight.Well the a-hole that sold them to me had reported them as lost and they had re-issued the tickets. What a bunch of chit!!!Was told that there was nothing they could do and if we wanted to see the race, would have to buy more tickets.Which we did.Race was pretty good.Finish kind of sucked.Spent a week in the mountains with my family and let it slide until I got home.Contacted pay-pal,nothing they could do.Too long since I bought the tickets.Have had several E-mail contacts with the seller. He is saying that his ex girlfriend had given him the tickets and she was the one I had to deal with.WTF!!!!This guy has sold a bunch of stuff on ebay and I could give a rats ass about his ex girlfriend.I think she was trying to F him and I got it instead.Spent an extra 200 bones for more tickets.Any ideas on what I might be able to do?Paid 300 for the tickets.Should I go after this mo fo or let it be a hard lesson learned.I am at wits end.I have contacted ebay and they are aware of the situation WTF that means, who knows.TARHEEL20,DON MILNER is his name.Lives in NC somwhere.Buyer beware of this guy!!!Give me your great advise viper brothers!!! PS spent $566.00 for gas on trip, ouch!!!!! 2200 miles +/-

If you paid using credit card contact them and make a claim !!

I did use a credit card thru pay-pal.The sale was back in march.Do u think I should contact mastercard direct?Or has it been too long.?Just got another email from the guy.Did not like my attitude and says he is done.He feels like I should deal with his ex girl who had the account set up and reported the tic's lost. What a bunch of Bull!!

I would try to do a charge-back on my credit card to pay-pal. I have also had luck in the past with threatening to call the local Sherriff or Police Department in the County that the seller lives in. Just explain to him that you will file a fraud complaint with local authorities on the matter, and go from there. I have never had to actually call them because that usually gets there attention and the problem is resolved. However you can call the Sherriffs Office and make a complaint if need be, at least he will get a friendly visit from a deputy or officer.

Contact mastercard directly. Its worth a shot even if the deal was done back in march

+1 !!!

And I have heard that Mastercard is particularly evil (to the merchant) when it comes to charge backs. :) That's why a lot of company's won't accept MC. They will take care of it.

Thanks

Thanks guys, I didnt know this. I am sure this will be useful information someday.

PayPal and Ebay are Uselesss...........

PayPal and Ebay are useless.

I purchased 3 pairs of crossdrilled and grooved rotors and 3 sets of pads on Ebay from Autoparts warehouse. They sent me 1 set of pads and they were wrong. Contacted them and they said their records showed everything was shipped. If I wanted more merchandise I would have to order and pay more money.

I contacted Ebay and PayPal an payPals response was "just beacuse you have a communication issue that does not allow us to get you any money back". I contacted PayPal again and they continued with the same logic. I told them I did not recieve my merchandise and communications had never been briught up. It was a dead end stone wall. Contacted Discover Card and after they investigated I had my credit in full.

PayPal and Ebay are just for the seller and useless to the buyer. I have had a couple other things "go bad" with Ebay purchases over the last 6 years and they did nothing.

A credit card will help protect you in situations like this.

You should contact your credit card Co. You were defrauded and the seller should be made to be accountable. If and when your credit card Co charges back PayPal they will then back charge the seller.

Sorry you were defrauded and had to pay for somethingagain, but the CC Co should be able to help recoup your losses.

Thankyou my viper brothers for all the tip's.This is a good lesson learned to not deal with e-bay or pay-pal.You think you are protected in buying something online using these services.Bottom line is you have NONE!
Thanks again!!

One of the things I learned about eBay is to thoroughly check out the seller before buying. I check the number of sales and their seller rating. If they have had any negatives, I make sure to read those too. I also look at their buyers to make sure they are not the same people over and over (scam to boost rating). I also check to make sure they have not used any previously registered seller names. People with lots of negatives used to re-register under a new name. eBay put a stop to that by tying the name to an address. Lastly, if they have a business web site, I check that too. I make sure they are using standard security protocols for e-commerce. Also, they should have contact info listed if they are reputable. I also send them a quick email asking them an easy question about a product to see if I get a response and how quickly they respond.

I like your attitude!! Hopefully mastercard is going to work with me on this.It was almost 12 weeks ago when I bought the tickets.May be too long.I will keep you posted on results.

No offence but I can't imagine every buying anything like tickets to an event off from E-bay, you are just setting your self up. Good luck with the CC company.

I too found my truck on E-Bay actually. Didn't buy it thier because the reserve was never met, but was contacted by the dealer and we made a deal. Tickets would just scare me because their is too much room for cheaters. I would buy a $100,000 car on ebay before a $5 ticket I think, the car you can atleast go see and verify that it is real and legal.

Atleast you got to see the race and had a good time, thats the important part. We go to Michigan every fall for the Nascar race, camp out and have a good time.

Well, thanks to your great advice the credit card company Capital One
gave me my money back!!! Ya freakin huuuu!!!! They have charge back pay
pal and they are going after the a-hole that sold me BOGUS tickets.Got my
$307.00 dollars back + finance charges!!!Thanks my bro's!!
