I have my rig at the dealership right now and I have an issue with one side lower than the other.

Dodge is saying that the will fix it but cannot get answers from Chrysler on what the ride height is. They only give ground to frame heights. So they are not sure if the problem is the right side or left. They are going to put it on a frame machine to check it but the machine is not available for another week.

So..... Can someone go measure what the height from the ground to the fender height is on an 06 RC for me? mine is off by an inch. we are not sure which side is off. One side is 34" the other 35". It is off by this inch on the front and back.

Again, need height from ground to bottom of the rear fender and ground to bottom of front fender.

Thank you...

I'll check for you as soon as I get home Scott. :)

Thanks bro...

You have any probs with height differences on your rig? :dontknow:

Haven't "noticed". I'd think I'd notice a 1" difference.

Which side is your lowest one? The gas tank is on the driver's side. 25 gallons of fuel can't be lite.

I know on my old TA, GM had the driver's side like 3/4" higher to due to the driver. Meaning, when the driver was occupying the car, it sat level. When the driver got out, the driver would notice the difference. :)

Low on drivers side even with the amount of gas your usually have in your rig ;)

I am surprised that Dodge is going through so much to fix it. Frame machines, spring replacements, torsion bars, etc... And I didnt even buy it there. I measured some other non-06 rigs at the last GTG with Begood and most were dead level if not a hair off. That included rigs with lowering kits too.

I had some of the same questions about a year ago just after I got my truck back. I talked to the guy in the body shop that verified that the frame is correct. I had one side higher than the other because I was doing my measurements at the fenders. He told me they do all there measurements from the frame. I watched him do all the measurements and from the frame to the ground right and left were both the same even though measurement at the fender was different.

I don't know how that works, but that's how its done.

My fender measurements are still different. It changes based on the weight in the truck and the difference will get closer with the more weight :dontknow:

I'm as confused as you are

Very good point. VERY good point. If your frame is level, your bed could be wonky. :dontknow:

Well, thats what they are telling me as well. they are going to measure off the frame when they can get it on the machine. but for now, they want to see what the actual stock height is to the fenders. That way they can tell if maybe one side of the truck has spring issues. If the frame is level, then the body that sits on the frame is affected by the suspension. That being said, we wont know until its on the frame machine.

The dealer was asking me so they have a reference point. If one side is the same as a level truck, its a good place to start from.

I dont know, I am just fed up with this crap already...

try taking those sheep out that you stuffed underneath the drivers side for stinker :dontknow:

on a serious note i hope you can get it fixed properly

What side is lower (front L,R or rear L,R) The engines are off center to allow the weight of the gas tank so its either a weak coil or flatted leaf . Cross your fingers and hope the frame isnt twisted.

well on mmy end it doesnt look good. ill probably skip my truck payment, and pay the $700 or so to get it dropped to a 0 point ticket.

If frame is twisted, dealer prob.

Entire left side (drivers) is 1" lower than pass side. Scratching head...:dontknow:

Be serious.... You just cant read it... :p ;) :D

If I can't read a tape measure, I am in the wrong profession! :p :D

Hey guys, i just got back from measuring my 06 Reg. Cab. As for the rear, the left (drivers side) from ground to bottom of fender well is 36 inches. Passengers side rear is 36 3/4 inch height! I'll be damned, never noticed it. Must be the 1/2-3/4 full gas tank thats causing the difference in ride height???

The front fender wells to ground measurements are:
Drivers side: 35 inches dead on from ground to fender well lip.

Passengers side: 34 3/4 inches from grnd to fender well lip.

Damn, looks like my truck has a 3/4 lean from the rear, nothing worse than having your rear end lean to one side more than the other, LOL!! :)

Hope that info helps :)

Thats almost exactly what my issue is but mine is almost an inch. Got my rig back from dealer this morning.

Replaced
1. Brake pedal - a knobs sheared off
2. drivers headlight weatherstripping TSB found ond VTCoA thread Thanks VTCoA
3. Hood liner - mine looked like it was all puffed up and pulling away from hood.
4. Passenger seatbelt - Recall
5. Wheel hubs - Recall
6. Passenger mirror - hit garage pulling in once and chipped the plastic.
7. Oil change.

Total cost... $116 only thing I paid for was oil change.
I tipped the tech $40 and the service manager $20:D ;)

Its going back once the frame machine is available to check to see if its the frame or springs. Based on the measuarments on the frame taken at the dealer, it looks like itsa a spring issue. They said it will all be covered under warranty.

Not bad for a dealership I never went to and didnt buy my rig from.
One for the good guys....

So what was the outcome with your truck Trekker? Looks like I am dealing with the same issue.
