Why the stock shifter?

The actual shifter part(that bolts to the trans) is awesome, the handle looks great, the connection between the two parts is shit. I modified mine and have loved it.

Friday night I went to goto the track for one last time before I remove the motor and it broke. So I backed it in and start removing stuff...
