I think my stock sub is going out. I've even tried to be extra careful with it and turn the bass down at high volumes. I've noticed lately that it's been distorting even at medium volume levels AND with the bass turned down.

Will the warranty cover an electrical item like that, even though I haven't spent the first dime at a dealer (services etc).

Has anyone replaced the stock sub with a different one? Will the fact amp even push an aftermarket one? I know sometimes car manufacturers will alter the ohm load.

i had a kicker comp 12" running off my stock amp for a lil while. worked ok for a lil while, but was underpowered. i removed the whole sub eventually anyway for my batery relocate and cryo tank. my advise, buy another stock one, or get a new amp.

if you're still under warranty, they should cover it........ if not, i think eddie102870 may still have some stock sub amps/ speakers for sale........:dontknow:

i wish i did, i already got rid of the 10's. i had two of them and sold both of them. im running to kicker cr 12's right now and they dont hit as hard as the two 10's did. just cant get enough air. probably will go back with 10's when i get the cash to get them. my son wants the 12's but im probably going to have to sell them to help offset some of the cost. i do still have two factory amps that drive the subs and one amp that goes under the dash if anyone needs them.

My stock sub went out.... PHYSICALLY OUT the cab then I dumped it in my shed. I haven't looked back since.:dontknow:

as long as you are under warranty they have to replace it. there is an issue with them sub and amp for it. both of mine have been replaced. even if you plan on going aftermarket, let the dealership fix it. you could always sell good parts.

I figured that they should. Thanks for the input. :D

Mmmmm. I love RF! In the past, no matter subs I used, I ALWAYS had a RF amp.  They've never let me down.

I got my stock sub and box from my 06 if you want it.

Thanks brudda, but with it being under warranty, I think I'll just let DC cover it. :)

IF it's not the cover rattling, 'cause that is exactly what it sounds like come to think of it . . .
