I'm sitting here looking at a picture I posted under the visual mods list and I'm thinking... I really need to shave the badges off my truck. I hate you all so very much.

My son: Daddy, tell me a story about life.

Me: Well, son, for me it all started with a Cat Back and CAI. The rest is history.

LOL!!!!!! So tell me....does this help? :D

question? i bought some sneaky pete badges and they are curved a bit. can they be straightened or will they work as is?

Shave them!!! ;) Looks awesome....never thought it would make such a difference....truck looks much better. Throw in some tint.....smoked rear brake light....perfect :D

Oh, there will be more to follow. I just got offered a job at a very well known custom car outfitter today. I think I'll start with removing the badges.

I'm debating on Viper emblems, though.

When did you get the windows tinted? I'm leaning more and more for the lowering kit for both looks and road race performance. Of course, then I've got to get the adjustable shocks, etc, etc, etc.

I had them tinted sometime this summer, can't remember when. Had an installer come out one evening and he was done in 1.5 hours. It's a 20 percent tint and cost me about $100 cash. The Xmetal lowering kit is great in my opinion. I can go a lot faster on I-70 west with the lowering kit than I could stock. My wife likes it a lot better because she can enter and exit the truck a lot easier, but doesn't like the faster speeds through the mountains.

Door Handles

Hey BROKE:

YOUR TRUCK LOOKS GREAT!
Are those factory door handles? :dontknow:
And are they made of the rough plastic?
I was told they couldn't be painted because
they don't sand out smooth. Are they smooth now ?

Thanx from

Those are stock door and tailgate handles. I went to a custom automotive painter and ordered new OEM handles and he painted them. From what he told me, he sanded them lightly, sprayed on some paint adheasive(?SP), primer, paint, and clear. They came out slick and smooth. On the front edge of each door handle, he had to file the point a little so when the door handle is pulled open, the front tip of the handle would not gouge into the handle base. When he sanded them lightly, the rough texture was still there but the layers of primer, paint, and clear filled it in. I am very happy with the outcome. I had the antenna grommet painted also, but forgot to have the rear license plate light grommets painted. Will pull them off later on and have them painted red also.
