I had the mufler pulled off and a set of straight pipes put on. I still have all 4 cats. All I gotta say is DAMN its louder then F@ck! The truck sounds like a UPS truck that someone threw a pack of firecrackers behind.:D WTF was I thinking:dontknow: I tried that before I put a muffler back on it so I could see if I liked it. Well I'm going with the Xcelerator muffler. High flow design with an X pipe designed inside the muffler. Anyone had any experience with the Xcelerator brand?

straight pipes

I was thinking about a 2 1/2 "" straight thru design muffler to give a bit o backpressure and muffle some of the sound. Now I am a bit spooked. :dontknow:

nah, get some long tube cat deletes and a magnaflow or the like. You WON'T
be dissapointed  I've gone the longtube/cat delete/muffler setup
and i like it alot. Sounds good crusin around but when you get on it the
exahust is pretty much nascar :D:D:rock: Would also suggest going 3" if
you plan to upgrade the headers

I bought sharp's pipes from him, and did all 4 cats delete with a dynomax super x muffler.............And she be loud bro's

UPDATE...Got the Xlerator di/do muffler installed. It looks to be a quality muffler. Hi-flo with Xpipe inside the case. Eliminated the sharp firecracker sound when ya let off the throttle. Still has the gurgle sound when coasting in gear and between gears. Sounds "Exotic". Deeper sound and NO resonance at speed. Sound level is between straight pipes and stock without the popping. I'm happy for now with it. Maybe later when my money gets straight, I'll be able to get a whole system. For now 225.00 installed and out the door was money well spent. Drove straight from the muffler shop to the detail shop and had 2 compliments on the sound. One at the gas station and the guy at the shop. X152 is the model number if anyone wants to know.

Deleting the cats will open that sound up big time. But there is a nasty drone at 2k rpms that gets on my nerves after driving for awhile.

patrick

i found out how to fix that on RED04's truck

I got mine put on today. I left the cats and the resonators. She has a good rumble without every cop in the land knowing I am on the prowl. I do like the design with the integrated x pipe...cool!!
