I usually leave to go to work around 7 am each morning. The outside temperature is normally around 70 degrees. I hear a whirling type noise. It is not a metallic noise. The noise does not change if you release the clutch pedal. It is a noise that starts off slow and revs up to a whine for about 30 seconds and then goes away. You will not hear the noise again until the next morning. I run Mobile 5-30 and I let the truck warm up for a few minutes before hitting the road. My driveway empties out onto a 60 mph road. The noise has not changed much over the last two weeks.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

oil filter whine as the pressure builds up....use the white viper filter

If you have a K&N oil filter it has been known to be more noticable

Might be worth your time to figure out what filter was put on. Some have had the filter split.

It may have fit or had a good cross reference, but ...... couldn't handle the pressure

As others have said switch it out for the white Mopar Viper filter.

Mine did the same thing when I got it, changed from the K&N to the white "Viper" filter from the dealer and perfect now.

I live in California also and i use 10w40 with a K&n filter and have no issues. I think 30 weight is to light bud. 30w would be fine in colder temps but you wanna stick with 40weight. The noise however is a common thing with a lot of these motors and like other have said can be fixed by using a mopar filter

I using the white Viper Mopar oil filter with 10w40 and have the
whine for a few seconds after cold start ups.

white Viper filter for sure:rock::rock:

i would bet ya a dollar to a hole in a donut that ya need the oil pump by-pass valve update:rock::rock::rock:

& a set of Stinker's oil lines:rock::rock::rock:
