The (re)build is underway!

Thanks to Tom Cavenaugh for the hook up on these heads! I cannot wait to get the engine back into the truck... We're shooting for a streetable, all-motor 600rwhp, with enough guts left over for a stage or two of N2Ox! Got Boomer workin' on a little underhood eye candy too...

FYI, there is no "y" in the name for these heads.:tomato:

They look great. How much are they running you? Did you have to send your heads in for a swap?

There was until they changed it....I think there was a patent problem....

The only issue with the spelling is doing thread searches. "Stryker" brings up SVS stuff most of the time. But really, who cares.

It hurts a bit. They're running me about two months salary.:bawling: Asking price is 6500, but Tom helps out on pricing for forum members.

I did as much research on the Viper forums as I could, and even spoke with Jeffrey Morys (The "JM" in JM Cylinder Heads). Seems that most of the comments about doing heads was to go big or stay home. I haven't found one word about anyone being disappointed with the performance of these heads, even given the price paid. They've made for some pretty impressive machines, both on FI and NA engines. I haven't seen results with N2Ox, but if nothing else the heads are stronger than stock.

I figured I'd otherwise have paid about 3k in head work, and given another 1500 in parts, for a reputable shop to make a noticeable performance difference with the factory heads. So why not go another 2k for a set of fully dressed, completely redesigned heads? Hell, I even get to keep the factory heads.

I hear you. Two months salary, isn't that the same as an engagement ring?! hint hint

Ported heads alone would cost you at least 2K. But with this, as I am reading off their site right now, you are doing more than the heads (valves, springs, retainers, cooling, etc.). All of that would add up separately. You've got peace of mind with these too. Not to mention increased boost and Nos potential. My tranny upgrade is already running me over 10K, to put the 6K in perspective.

Sounds like the way to go AND to do it big.

Did they give you any dyno numbers projected with the heads?

Might as well throw in some forged pistons and push rods while you are at it.

Do you have to send your heads in or can you keep them? If you don't have to swap em, sell your set on Ebay to make up some of the 6K.

I talked to Jeff back in the winter right as the Hot Rod splash hit.He is overwhelmed with interest and demand for the heads. They are a totaly new casting with the spark plug location changed. No core is required. He has 60 or so Vipers running in Australian and in the US racing series on these for a full season.

I plan on using this on my extra motor build in conjunction with the Roe project.New short block,Striker heads,Oliver rods,Diamond pistons.

I will be selling the intake manifold most likely although I hate to part with Brendan`s signature and the stock heads. Most likely I can recoup 2k out of the heads and 1k out of the intake manifold.

That'll be one "HELL" of a motor, Hellboy!!!!

What's the ETA on getting it done?

That's the idea. Right Phil? :D

Bone, there's no sense in throwing numbers out for power production. Even the flow numbers on a set of heads (and the numbers are impressive on these), don't tell you all you need to know about the horsepower potential. Check my sig line, and you'll see all of the goodies planned for the engine. It most definitely includes pistons and rods. Just debating the billet main caps now.
