STROKER MOTOR

Also, you can do that build but leave off the Strikers to save some cash. Just have your OEM heads worked over, custom cam, roller rockers, pushrods, valve springs, headers, exhaust, cai and tune.

Thats what I am planning if I don't find a used paxton. I already have the headers, full exhaust and cai. My builder nows these motors extremely well and he thinks I'll hit over 100 rwhp gain (from stock).

I am probably going to end up doing this N/A build. My builder has a custom grind cam that has some really hard lope and makes great power. With my current mods I can complete this build for less than half of what it would cost me for a paxton.

I gotta tell ya..there is nothing better sounding than the whine of a blower (or turbo)....to me anyways. I love it! Well the purge of the NOS is cool too! Mines comin right out of the Rams mouth :D

I hear ya Blake. :p

It's the heavy hitting lope of a huge cam that's always done it for me. :D

My main point was a RELIABLE engine with around 600 to 650 at the rear wheels. Several of you guys with deep pockets have either grenaded 2 or 3 engines or taken over a year to build the engine and to me that is too long. Of course I turn wrenches for a living but looks to me like you could do the head and cam swap in a weekend and have a reliable 600 to 650 rwhp and not have to worry about #3 cylinder, heat soak, filling a bottle or any of the other associated problems posted on the forum. I admire all of you that have done the major engine builds and I guess the Bradenton meet will tell who is the top dog for now. But I am going to take the money I was going to use to modify my truck and build a 540 HEMI to put in my '67 Coronet. I love my truck, 18 mpg highway, low 13's if it would hook, but once that quarter mile sickness gets in your blood its money on top of money. I can spend 10,000.00 building a HEMI or a wedge and be in the 10's in a streetable car. This is just my opinion and I hope all you players in the HP war run in the 10's or 9's.

Hey Mopower! I drove mine to the Rock last night and averaged 18.7!

swweeett!

I agree bro, I think with a set of heads, the right cam, ported intake, rocker arms, full exhaust, playing with the throttle body, and possibly going as far as bumping up the compression, you should be able to easily obtain 6-650hp, and that would be sweeeett!:D

figure more like 575rwhp....but so what....that is alot....will get you low 12's and I agree the sound of a N/A motor with a cam....is just wonderful......

Yeah Whatever it would end up would be awesome, such as blakes motor, wonder what it would make with no adder?

Now thatt would give a good tellin of what one would make:rock:

LOLOL Dont worry bro, I gots lotsa cord!LOLOL
