I have been poking around and came across the STS Squires Turbo Systems.

I seen on their site that there was a kit for an SRT-10, and that they tested this at Roe Racing..... Has there ever been any info passed around here on this type of install?

It states they use Garrett turbo's- which one? GT-40? 42? Bigger?

It also listed a pretty big price tag for the power they made....... I'm wondering if a homebrew system like this can be made-

Is there any computer add ons with a kit like this?

Info please......

DO NOT, REPEAT DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS SYSTEM!!!!!
A few members tried it out and 60% blew up their motors. Big Asp (Phil) blew up two motors. Stay away from it and warn others.

........ok........... What were the failures related to ? ? Is there a thread or two on it somewhere??

PM Stinker.....he is almost done building his twin 60 turbo monster! i think the key is redoing the fuel system to supply enough so you don't go boom!

Coming from someone who had the STS system (me) just supercharge your motor.

Failures. Simply put they are related to the turbo system (it is and was a failure). Don't bother...trust us.

FlyingLow I think is the only one who hasn't blown up with the STS kit. Like Silverback said.... STAY AWAY!! If you want a turbo setup talk to underground racing or go with a Paxton.

I think the message has been relayed properly...thus I dont need to provide any more input.

STS come with a GT-76 turbo. I have the STS and my original engine. Now everyone who blew their engine did so for various reason. The 2 biggest reasons were over-boost and tuning. I talked with just about every guy that lost the #3 piston and asked lots of questions trying to figure out what was going on.

Over boost was a big problem due to wrong directions. They have since fixed this problem. The second was the tune. Some STS-1E controllers (mini VEC2) shipped without any program loaded into it. No tune + over-boost = the #3 club. I wont get into specifics, but I can pinpoint exactly what went wrong on almost every STS casualty. I'm running super rich right now and that is one of the reasons why I still have my engine. I won't lean it out until I can add some meth.

Now that being said I would not recommend anyone getting the STS. They did not do enough R&D and I think there are still some bugs to be worked out. I think you are much better off going with a proven system such as the Paxton. Even the Roe is still a little to new for me right now. But one of the biggest factors you need to consider is who is going to tune your engine. The tune is the biggest thing in going FI. It will make or break you.

We finally gave up on my STS turbo because they could not get it tuned properly. I am at 6,500 feet above sea level. We could not get the STS Vec to register boost properly. The truck's gauges showed 5 psi of boost and the Vec showed 0. We changed the Vec...same thing. They modified the tuning liek 8 times before I gave up. I did not want to join the #3 club. I lost my a$$ on the STS. I should have listened to Boomer...why reinvent the wheel (unless you can make it faster ;)).

By VEC are you referring to the STS-1E or an actual VEC2? This is the first I have heard of this problem. I was wondering why you took the STS off the truck.
