Stuck shifter!!

Hey guys,
I don't know what's been going on lately. At certain times, my shifter is completely stuck. This only happens when I'm trying to shift into reverse or first. It feels as if something is blocking the shifter from going in. It gets so stuck sometimes that I feel like I'm going to break the shifter trying to put it in gear.
This only happens at certain times though, other times it still drives like the first day I got it.

Any ideas as to what's going on??

Is it hard to go into 2nd from a dead stop? (ex: at stop light, put it in 2nd and take off)?

Might be a hydraulic / clutch issue, maybe heat-soak to the junk plastic hydraulics.

time to upgrade bud to the Gen IV Boomer special!

I haven't missed third since!

It is tough getting into reverse and first some times....you just gotta wiggle the shifter a bit.

I doubt that the trouble mentioned is the shifter...but I do recommend the Gen IV! More likely the hydraulics. You need to have the Centerforce clutch and Viper Slave and Master Cyl at some point anyway...so do the conversion and your problems (short term and long term) should be solved. I would add the Gen IV from Boomer too...because it does solve the second to third power shift issue.

i believe hes talking about it not going into gear from a dead stop. if thats the case, next time it happens all you have to do is put it in any gear you can, and get it to move a inch. sometimes the gears are at the exact spot where they physically cannot allign themselves. it happens in all manual transmissions sometimes. hope this helps

Very true:idea: I have to go into 5th before I can get into Reverse almost all the time!

Also...Shit, I would buy the clutch, slave cylinder, gen IV shifter, etc.....if I had the money!! Anybody wanna share some of their money with a future heart surgeon?? I'll hook ya guys up when ya need it :nurse:

I have trouble going into reverse and sometimes it seems in and then pops out.I think I need the hydraulic fluid replaced .
