Sun Roof

Crazy...I was just thinking about this yesterday. Anyone know if adding a sunroof would affect the structural integrity of the truck (stiffness)?

Have you seen the video of the red truck rolling over, and the roof caving in??? I don't think the sunroof is gonna make much of a difference

Yes it would. It's not the "Stiffness" you need to be concerned with, it's the roof strength. To put a sunroof in a RC you will need to cut the main roof support (roof bow). on an QC the bows are moved to a different location to accommodate the sunroof.
I understand that safety is all relative (N0S, SC, 140mph) but this will remove the structure of the truck.

i was thinking about it - wondering if there were any problems or suggestions or comments

My suggestion is DON'T DO IT I having been involved in manufacturing sunroofs for over 20 years. We are the largest aftermarket sunroof manufacturer in the U.S. If the installation is done when the vehicles are built it will work well.

Hell no man, do not do it. Almost every aftermarket sunroof will leak or have hella wind noise. Plus its a truck, not a sports car

Yes, Mikey had a power sunroof added to his truck. And he loved it (that truck was totalled out buy another owner). But I would say don't do it! I have been contacted way too many times about sealing up aftermarket sunroofs. And the bottom line is, if it leaks now, it always will!
