After hanging with Roy over the weekend, I want a Supercharger....to hell with just a flash and exhaust :D

I like the Roe design and based on some feedback around the design, it sounds like the power is applied at a reasonable curve, as opposed to a standard turbo type shock.....anybody had success with a supercharger and an auto.....after reading 1Fast and Blake's posts, I'm skeered

Thanks for any input

Don't be skeert lil fella!

Put it in and test it. That way, if yours goes boom, I'll know for sure that I don't want one!!

What he said.......

After seeing the video, It's sounds and feels more of an opion. Now where did I put my piggy bank.

No, really in all seriousness. Approximate Cost and Down Time would be the real question. It would be one of those things I would do over the winter months, so if there's an answer coooooool

I just called Roe on the phone about the Twin Screw Supercharger and the auto tranny. They said it is setup to run with the stock tranny. I am sure if you intend to race a lot you would want to beef it up. They also said there is a software program offered with it that will allow the user to fine tune it more depending on current mods.

I specifically ask if I should run lower boost to save the auto tranny and they said it is not necessary. It will run right around 5 lbs - 5.5 lbs of boost and be fine. The whole system was setup for a bolt on to a complete stock truck.

The price is also really good. I will know later today whether I am going to take the plunge or not. As long as my bank lady agrees? It is going to be my first mod! :burnout:

I hate you guys!!! Now you have me all anxious and stuff, theyre only right down the road and I have all these credit cards and this truck.......................PHUUUCCCKKKK!!!!!:D

BWAAAHHHAAAAHHHAAAA!!!LMAO!!!! :)

Its OK, the first motor blow only hurts for a little while...mostly financially :)

Sincerely,
One of the blown motor club members

If the truck gets a tune from someone who knows what they are doing (only a few seem to have this skill in Viper/SRT tuning) you should have no problems. I'm trying to find someone less then halfway across the country that can tune my SRT Ram. Theres got to be more "SAFE" power in her, I'd like to pull a little more out. With upgraded internals I'm hoping to push the boost a bit more. So far, I know of BOOMER and DC Performance...both quite far for me either way. The Denver area NEEDS a Viper tuner!!

The FLASH is what instantly kills the tranny....With the blower if u turn off the torque managment it will kill the 48re with the quickness! If u do the band upgrade and the other deal you will be OK for a while BUT if you go for a serious build your gonna need a Suncoast or a built ranny from Joe (nowwhats guy)....Gotta pay if u wanna play! :) Buy whichever one that 1fast ends up not using...maybe hell cut ya a deal..

I want one.....BAD.....but I don't want all those tranny issues.....decisions, decisions :dontknow:

I need to do some extensive research, thanks for all the replies and input...

I am very interested in a Roe sc , but i need to know what the trans needs , i wont be racing it at all , will the tranny withstand the power ???

Is it safe to bolt to a OE motor , i am not interested in any engine builds !!!:dontknow:

FWIW, everything else being equal (including equal levels of boost), the Roe Twin-Screw Positive Displacement S/C is going to 'shock' the drivetrain harder than a turbo(s).

Positive Displacement Blowers basically provide Instant Full Boost from around 2,000rpms and up, where a turbo(s) has to spool up in order to build boost.

Centrifugal superchargers, like the Paxton, Vortech, ProCharger etc., build boost by RPM. So they don't 'shock' the drivetrain as hard as a Positive displacement blower does either.

If you add a power adder....doesn't matter which one....the stock tranny will take a dump....add $2500 to the price of the power adder to pay for the minimum tranny work needed...

And without a 2500+ rpm stall converter you will never beable to run slicks...= $1500 more....:(

I am with you, what's the dam cost of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

OK, OK.....

It's about a buck two eighty or in between 6, depending on how you want it...

Sorry, I just couldn't resist...I really don't know...I just keep giving money to Roe and they let me know when I have depleted the balance, then I steal more from my wife and replenish the account...

Call Dave at Roe: (904) 529-1219

Tell him what you have and what you want he can price the job as a mail order or inhouse install at their shop...he will want to know if you have VEC II, do you have Meth, how do you want to drive it, when you want it done and how fast a turn around you want....

The price is

less than you are thinking...

You will be sick, love sick...it's 4:54 am I just went out to peek at the Roe on the top of my engine...I wanted to start it, but was afraid my 84 year old Mother would ground me if I did.

Go for it, you will never, ever regret it.
