the official word is.....not one.....but TWO destroyed pistons.....:rock: .......

Anyone cook 2 at the same time before or is this a SRT 1st.... .....

All components will be at EED next week for assembly.....:rock: :rock: .....they will also break the motor in on their dyno....

then off to DC for install and a mad.....mad tune.....

now Mike how the hell do you get all the luck, everyone else's projects take forever, and you already talking about install, mad tunes, and filling up the tank, how do you have that kind of turnaround?? is it just the $$$ or is it your charm, when I get my bottom end done, I'm sending Boomer some shall we say, very artistics photos of my wife and her girlfriend, not bragging, and saying this conservativly, they are smoking hot, betcha Boomer don't misplace them, go to your most upscale gents club, find the 2 top dog in the joint, times it by ten and then your close, between them they have about 760cc in all the right places, 7% bodyfat, and a combined income of over 100 grand, when the weather breaks warm I'll make my truck bed a makeshift hot tub, and post a few pics in their bikini's, only Boomer gets the ones in their birthday suites

if you only destroyed 2, then those 2 were probably getting an incorrect air/fuel mixture. I'm very careful with my tuning of my race engines (500+ hp in a 1.6 liter 4 banger takes a careful tune) I have blown 4 pistons before but never just one or 2.

I don't think the vipers are getting tuned properly, IMO. you really need a wideband o2 sensor and an exhaust temp sensor in each cylinder so yo ucan fine tune each one seperately.

Sweet Mike. Careful with the "bombproof" statement though, they called the Titanic unsinkable! I think if there is a way to blow up your new motor you will find it.

Actually the color of the pistons say that the A/F was spot on.....the motor suffered metal fatigue....no signs of detonation....The tune and the c-16 (117 octane) was very safe....the problem as stated many times is that the top of the stock pistons are paper thin....just too much pressure....

I got lucky.....EED had an extra block and was kind enought to start working on that one for me before we even had mine out of the truck....EED is doing everything in house so it will come together fairly quicky.....:rock:
