I was at our local track on Sat night and there was a 69 z28 Camero that was running 8.48's. I know he had nitrous and huge slicks out back, but you could not see or hear a blower under his hood. The guy even had all his interor and back seat still in the car. It was such a sleeper. It launched like a rubberband. How is this possible without a blower or turbo?

If I remember right the Pro-Mods are now in the low 6's. Some are NOS cars and some are blown.

My guess it was probably a 3 stage NOS system.

Maui, the guys here are running that with HUGE x LARGE CI's. A friend has a 68 Camaro running in the 8's, former King of the Hill car. Those multiple stages of nitrous are something else.

Silver and Aldog, thanks for the input. The car sounded so sick........had this killer loupy cam, and took off like a slingshot. So mulitple stages of Nitrous......how big of a shot are we talking? Or should I say shots?

It seems as if hes going to set up the new S,Tank as a very durable naturally aspirated nitrous ready and prepped reliable daily driver capable of 10 second 1/4s as race truck, with no forced induction,………… But I could have made up some of those things. :star:

I love cars like that....I watched a twin turbo camaro with full exhaust run high 8s and the car made NO SOUND going down the track.....none.....like a f'n ghost.....more impressive was the suspension....on the 3rd yellow the car squatted down on all four corners and simpy shot forward....no lift....no tire smoke....nothing.....

Update.....

The block is done being sleeved.....Heads are next they go to Michigan to get new guts....

The block picked up like....5 cubic inches.....ha.....

again....not going for more rwhp....although I will probably pick up a few with the balancing and the such....just going with bomb proof for a 300 shot.....
