What breaks when they finally give out. I have killed my 2nd 727 in under 1000 miles so i am looking for another solution before i scrap this project.

Good lord son, what gives??? From what I hear the T-56's are a tough cookie, I have never heard of anyone breaking one.....but I dont know a whole lot of people who have 1000+ HP vehicles. Youtube has that one yellow viper running a 7.99 in the 1/4 on a stock T-56

My problem is the weight of the truck 5500lbs in to the 12s is hard on a trans plus the way i drive on the street dose not help.

He's burning thru 727's not T-56's ...... T-56s are TOUGH.... these are anyway

A stock one is good to 1000rwhp, after that they need to be built.

Knowing James....he could break one and use the pieces for boat anchors

get a T56 out of an 08 viper...they are stronger, shorter throws, better engagement

How much can you spend on a really strong auto trans?

.
How much can i spend or how much could be spent? Im have no desire to spend money on it as of now , so far i have 4000 worth of core 727 and 2800 worth of over drive i cant use. If its just a general question on pricing i have been quoted. 10 grand all billet 727. 8000 on the oem trans but was told that they would not hold up to street/ road course driving with the weight. Thats no warranty also.

Wonder what the conversion would cost me?

Just went over the guts of the 727 found a broke snap ring on the pump but it was still in place . The plates in the forward drum are a warped and the clutches are burnt but this is due to the failure and not the cause. We are leaning towards a valve body failure.

SOB that thing is warped!!! You could always go G-Force or Liberty but $$$$$

a used T56 1500.....g force build 4000......a tranny rated for 1500 plus hp 5500......clutch setup a couple thousand more

James your screwed. lol. I have a faceplated G-force trans in the rustang. Its taken a bunch of street abuse including some 8000+ rpm shifts without a hitch. The track hasn't been open since the motor and trans went in but I can tell you I have complete confidence that it will hold up. Granted this is in a 2800lb car. I would call and talk to them see if they think it will take the abuse of that heavy truck

Who did you have build your 727?

I suggest you give John Cope a call http://coperacingtrans.com/ he did the trans in my Duster. And he has done alot of high horsepower vehicles without problems.

Bill.

hey james, ever clean out the bed of the truck. that might help????

Weight seems to be the common problem.

I spoke with him Monday he said i need to drop at least 500lbs and to stop splitting the gears with the gear vendors unit. Said he could build me one for 2500 but no warranty.

That drops about a 100lbs.

did/does any of the Hemi's come with a standard gear box????

Challenger comes with a 6060. You should be able to use parts from that and a 10 to get one to work with a hemi
