Guys I need help on an issue. I recently changed my spark plugs (438) and took off the throttle body to clean it out. I took off the throttle body sensor off while I cleaned it and I think this is my issue. I started the truck and I could tell that it was idling high. Not real noticible but definately high. The engine light come on also. I took it to the local parts store and ran the code. I dont remember the exact code but I know it said something about the throttle body sensor having a low input or something. When I drive it through the gears (04 RC) it seems like its reaching max RPMs early (around 4500RPMs). I took the throttle body sensor and it doesnt look like i put it back on wrong but not sure. I drove on the highway and i noticed a slight stutter in the engine every so often almost like a missfire or something. Im not sure if this is all because of the sensor or what.:dontknow: Any help would be appreciated

Give us the code...switch the ignition on and off and on the third time leave it on...the code will show in the display in your dash.

P0122-THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR #1 VOLTAGE TOO LOW

Several things could be going on...the blade in your throttle body could be hanging up...they do from time to time and a little sanding of the blade where it contacts the body will sometimes fix the problem. You may have tightened the blade too much if you disassembled...too. (Be very careful to not let the little screws go into the intake...while working on it, or after because you did not make sure they can't be sucked in later.

The other option is that replacing the sensor is a simple purchase and plug-in...

But better wrench experts will add to this soon...give it an hour or two...

Whas Up Mang? I believe if you have a Voltmeter ( multi-meter) you can read the TPS voltage as it is a potentiometer and increase or decreases voltage dependant on throttle blade position. If not mistaken it should show around .6 volts at closed throttle and somewhere around 4.6 up to 4.9 WOT! :D

it seems like the throttle body isnt catching. I took off the intake to expose the TB and it opens and closes easily. It idles normal with the sensor off. When i put it back on it has to turn slightly to slide on the flat head looking blade on the side of the TB. When it goes back on because it has to turn it makes the idle go up slightly. Wondering if this is normal.

Also have an issue with this damn shifter (B&M). While the truck is off it goes through the gears easily. When the truck is on it has to be forced into the gears and a pop sound is made. Any ideas?:dontknow:
