well thats all i'v got as of now.. i'll try to tear down a little bit every morning after work but .. next week will be when i hit it hard and get it out of the truck.....and i'v been thinking about what i want to do and how i'm goign to build it.. well i'm going to Completely forge the bottom end.in prep for a future STS install" . A little bit stronger cam "haven't picked one yet"...roller rocker valvetrain..ported and polished Heads/Intake
and what ever else i find that need replaceing... will also have some work done on the mains on the block and i hope that'll be it unless i find some other stuff along the way...what are yall thoughts?

The chamber in the pic is not that bad. Very minor damage really, it can easily be salvaged. Light welding and blending and it will be as good as new. If that were not a hotrod motor I would not even weld it up, just blend.

Sure is amazing how flat a little screw can get in a combustion chamber.......

Good luck with the project...........

hmm i'll check it out for sure thanks for all your help guys i'm gonna get this thing rolling i hope in a few months.. might as well put in a new clutch whilke i'm at it lol

TOOLOE WHAT DOES THE CYLINDER BORE LOOK LIKE?

THAT HEAD CAN BE REPAIRED EASY AT ANY GOOD HEAD\MACHINE SHOP

honestly i have not had a chance to check out the cyl wall...theres really not enuff light since my garage door is broke....ill try to snap some shots of it..in the morning

hahahahaha wooooohooooo well i got home this morning..started looking at the cyl wall and crank that i could see.....and let me say it's hard to see in that #10 cyl lol heres a picture check it out

it's as smooth as a babys ass... so now i'm scratching my head as to where the screw went...unless the dealer ship found it i don't have a clue.. so now i'v got to make my mind up.. since the cyl wall is fine.. or to the eye, touch, feel it's fine " will have to double check with my uncle he can help me out here to make sure" but what to do now? if it's really good then theres no sence in pulling the motor....do i just get the heads and intake fixed and port an polished..throw a nice mild cam in, roller rocker valvetrain
billet push rods.... get it tuned with the SCT tuner and call it a day...or should i still tear it all the way down?

Get a bore gauge and mic the cylinder out. just to be safe.

The screw went out the exhaust valve after it did it damage to the head.

YOU GOT LUCKY! congrats! fix the head and get her back on the road!

If you go over the intire bore with your fingernail and it doesn't hang up you ought to be good.

Just in my opinion, if you have the money - do the build. It will lead you to other things with your truck.

If you're happy with your truck the way it is and the walls mic out okay, then you can just get a solid head job.

Head job.

Head job.

I like saying that. Why?

I would also replace the conecting rod, as it may have damage that is not visible. I speek from experience
