Tell me about the Desert Eagle...

that's a tough call...

based on the shit i've shot....they seem to make more of mess;)

but i'm sure you'll hear pros and cons for both...

i suppose, to be honest, i'm not really qualified to answer that....i'm a revolver guy...and it seems i've heard that some of the tips on the corbon types in the semis could cause FTE....or jamb....if you're shooting a lot....now....i don't know if that's true...

i think, if you have any question....shoot some stuff and see for yourself...

You guys are raining on my parade :(

If you like it, buy it. :dontknow: But, I would wait about a year.... Kahr Arms just bought Magnum Research (the maker of the DE). I'm sure they will be doing some production changes and tweeking. And that's a good thing. ;)

.... I don't see why it would be a bad home defense gun. That big-old slow moving 50AE bullet will go through a lot less walls than a .357 or 9mm (check out the ballistics). As long as you are comfortable with it, and shoot it WELL. Go for it. :)

i had a soldier hit on of my team leaders in the hand cause he got a little trigger happy and a round went through the wall...

Another thing you gotta think about cody and troy... with a shotty and a de, yes they can protect your home but what if you need to carry??? (with a license of course)

Pete we were only talking about home protection..I have my CCW and I carry EVERYWHERE;)

mossberg makes a side by side coach gun thats short and perfect for home defense

Desert Eagle, Cool as can be. Practical for protection, not so much. It'll go through your bad guy and a couple walls possibly taking out innocents. Shotgun, very effective but a little cumbersome in close quarters (car etc.). Get yourself a .357 revolver and load it with shotshells. Makes a big bang, gives you a little spread, won't go through your bad guy and then walls. It's a handheld shotgun. Plus you can shoot 38 specials in the same gun for practice. you can get them in .45 too.

You may want to check out this webpage. Shotgun went through 6 walls of sheet rock with #4 shot (duck shot)!

8 sheets with 00 shot!

12 sheets with a Slug...

Yep, bird shot (feather weight) is best for home defense. If you don't think bird shot is "enough" to stop someone from about 10-15 feet away, think again.

I like the BoxofTruth site... But, they did that test wrong. ;)

This is more realistic with wall spacing....

Hey look, we have the new Yankee on board :D :D :D ;) :elefant: :p

I played around with my buddies DE this weekend, love the gun, kick isn't like I thought it would be either. The gun trader I'll be dealing with says the permit to carry it isn't any different than any carrying permit ;)

Shouldn't be any different.... If someone asks you if you're carrying a gun (because they see the HUGE print of it on your side), just say you are on dialysis and they had to strap the whole machine to you. ;) :D :D :D

There are times when penetrating a wall is neccesary to kill the perp standing behind it. That's when a well placed heavy round is prudent.

But, in the hands of someone who's emotions have run amok and is just (frantically) spraying the place it's a real liability.

I got to play with The Judge today  he keeps buckshot in the first shot chamber and a .45 in the next, just in case the first don't change your mind :D
For about $400 it seems like the way to go ;)
