Texas Mile Anyone???

Been thinking about how fun it would be to go out to the Texas Mile and see what our trucks would run but where/how would you remove the governor on these trucks?

Anyone ever been or wanting to go?

Redline in 6th? HAHA i really somehow doubt that. Depending on your ratios, minimum top speed is around 300 MPH gearing wise :rofl:

I think about it all the time but keep blowing up transmissions:(
 
oh god. i hope im not on the same road you are. i'm waiting for parts to come tomorrow for my trans. new 3rd gear and new 5/6 gear plus bearings.

They are having the next event in october.
 
i thought i read that these trucks are governed at 155mph. so right out of the box they can achieve more than this?

you should change 5th and 6th like 505 did , it will do tons better:rock: :rock:

but mine was on a dyno bud, we played a little at underground one day after the turbos:p
 
you mean change it to the different gear ratio other than the 29/37 or just replace it with the stocker tooth count?

change the 5th and 6th ratio, make 6th less of a overdrive
 
ahh thats why. i did say depends on what ratios you run. i know our stock 6th is .5/1 whic theres no way of topping that out. believe me i tried on rt 80 in the poconos. at about 185 front end starts to come up pretty bad :D

damn. that reminds me of when jay leno was talking about a lambo muira and saying after 100mph or so the front end lifts so much you kinda lose steering.
 
my normal 03 4 door 4x4 hemi i had tuned and no limiter. took it in the NJ pine barrens. i hit 153 and turned the wheel a bit and it didnt turn. the srt plants pretty decent but gets sketchy about 180. never tried that again. it was brand new pavement perfectly flat.
